Happy New Year!
The tables are set and there are gently falling snowflakes
coming down outside. The pond is froze solid enough for a skating
party before our potluck dinner.
My amaryllis makes a bright and
pretty addition to our centerpiece.
Just waiting for the arrival of our family.
Last night we had six of our grandchildren over
for the night and after lots of fun and giggles it was
time to settle in for the night. As,some were settling into
sleep and I am laying with Lila and her brother I hear
a big sigh from Lila (above) as she says" worst New Years
ever...everyone is just going to go to sleep!" Oh! Lila it is
11 o'clock and you are only 5 years old! We had a good
laugh over our little drama queen. I hope your New Year
got off to a better start then Lila's!
Happy New Year!
Carolyn
Wish a wonderful 2015 Carolyn! xoxo, Alexandra
ReplyDeleteOh Carolyn, what a darling little girl Lila is. Oh, she would have been disappointed here, too. We snoozed through the coming of the new year! ha!
ReplyDeleteYour table setting looked so elegant. Loved that white-framed mirror the flowers were on. Great idea.
Blessings to you and to all your family this coming year. Susan

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your tables in these pics. All that creamy white with the amaryllis just popping out. So pretty. Is that centerpiece bottom a mirror or a frame? It's just beautiful.

Ah, I cannot resist this comparison. Remember when we were so young we felt it was the end of all things good and wonderful if there was not a festive event to draw us out and celebrate the new year coming in?
ReplyDeleteI may not have complained aloud but inside I often whined like a little brat...NOW FAST FORWARD many years and there is nothing sweeter than an evening IN perhaps by the fire ...no jinglejangle no fireworks..just the luxury of solitude enjoying my own personal space and private thoughts. Well, I admit, I am there...the solitude.
Wow, what an incredible table setting. I hope you had a wonderful time with your family. Happy new year!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your sweet family, Carolyn!

I'm just impressed you entertained six children until at least 11p the night before a dinner party like the one you appear to be having. Of course everything is beautiful as usual, but I'm guessing your temperament is beautiful as well to accomplish so much and still have fun with your grandchildren. That's what it's all about and they'll grow up with beautiful memories. Blessings to you all.
ReplyDeletehello

Happy New Year, Carolyn and Andrew and family!
ReplyDeleteLol Kids say the cutest things, don't they!
My grandniece Lily, who will be 4 on Valentine's Day, was sporting a brand new Christmassy red coat with black velvet trim and matching hat recently that her grandmother (my sister) had given her for the holidays. After trying on her new outfit and admiring herself in the full-length mirror in the hallway, she ran into her mom' bedroom and grabbed a suitcase on wheels...Towing it behind her out into the living room, she exclaimed to all, "I hope I don't miss my flight!" Haha
So here's to no missed flights and a great new year! XO
