A Winter's Day Tea

It is a cold day here today so even
though it is not yet winter it feels
                                                            like it out there.
So, I am in the mood for a warm
                                                            and cozy winter tea.
This is the time of the year when I
like to use my Friendly Village china.

I am also enjoying touches of plaid
in the house. I made the plaid pillows above
as well as the two knit pillows using old sweaters
                                                           to make them.
This is in our reading nook so
get comfy and enjoy reading a book along
                                                           with your tea.

A kind friend gave me two winter napkins and I
couldn't resist making them into pillows to go with
the new plaid ones ~ a perfect match!

I have another tea tray ready for you as well ~
I wanted to show you my new teapot from a
Summerside flea market a few weeks ago. It
goes very well with the Friendly Village pattern
and I love the shape of it.

                                                             A Christmas/winter teacup with
some apple treats from Japan that
                                                             go very nice with tea.

Just in case you wanted to know the name
of the new to me teapot.
We saw Anne Hathaways Cottage
when we were in England .

So just in case you would like to
sit out on the porch and watch
the birds I made this tea tray for
you but bundle up it's cold out there
or wait until tomorrow when it warms up
                                                       again!
I am still slowly decorating for Christmas and enjoying
the process. I know many of you are doing the same as I
have seen lots of inspiration out there!

Today, I am joining Bernideen's Tea Time Blog for
                                            Tea with Friends and
Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday.

                                                      Thank you for visiting,

                                                                         Carolyn

  2. Given how cold it is out there today, I will have my tea in the reading nook, please! Both of your teapots are lovely. Your FV teapot is shaped a bit differently than mine. Is it vintage? The chickadee pillow is adorable and looks very cozy with the plaid. Always a pleasure to have you join me for Tea Time, Carolyn. Enjoy the rest of your day.

    Blessings,

  4. I adore the teapot with it's unique shape! Did you know years ago I read that Martha Stewart never takes anyone to the flea market who likes what "she likes" so there is no conflict. The only thing wrong with that is isn't it so much more fun to share our joys with our friends with similar interests and styles? I love the pillows with the birds mixed with the plaids too! Very lovely - everything!

  6. I love your new teapot. That is a nice shape for one and I find the top reminds me of a crown. Your new pillows are lovely for winter. The tea set up out on the porch is very pretty. Just a wee bit too cold for me though. I think I'll take mine inside. :)

  14. Hi Carolyn,
Your transferware teapots are so lovely today and yes, they do look beautiful together. After seeing your amazing collections in your posts, it has inspired me start to collect some brown transferware too. It certainly is perfect for displaying at Winter/Christmas Time. Your winter linens look so cozy and warm. Your pics are always so stunning! Thank you so much for visiting me. I must borrow your teacup or you can borrow my Royal Albert Poinsettia teapot. Lol! Happy December! Karen
