An Upcoming Vintage Tea

                                                                                   Hello everyone,
We have had a lovely week here and
I was happy to have been able to
have an afternoon at the beach yesterday
                                                                 after breakfast out with friends.
Anyway, I have been doing a
little planning for my next fundraiser
                                                                 tea on Friday, August 22......my
                                                                 last one for this summer.
So, I will be using all my vintage
                                                                 teacups.

                                                                    Baking some treats.

                                                                Using vintage tablecloths.
                                                                    Digging out vintage attire.
                                                                     And Vintage accessories.

                                                                        Donning a hat.
                                                                      I love these vintage dresses.

My husband made this 3 tiered server for
                                                             me using vintage plates.

There are a few tickets left if you would
like to come ~ more details on post below.

Thank you for visiting and for your sweet
                                                                               comments on my last post.
I have 22 visitors tomorrow morning
and then we have a 3 week break before
getting busy with the tours again. So,I
have a little time to think of Vintage Tea
                                                                               ideas.

                                                                                                  Take care,
                                                                                                            Carolyn

  1. My husband just came into my office and asked what it was making me continually sigh..........and I said "It's Carolyn Aiken again." And he smiled and walked back out, because he knows exactly what that means.

Gorgeous pictures of inspiration, and the vintage tea will be splendid, as always! ♥

  10. Connie. I make cake stands just like Carloyn's one from vintage plates and I find the spindles from a supplier on ebay. They are called cake stand fittings and are available in lots of styles and colours. I do love the bronze finish as they tend to suit the older plates. I am in Australia but I am sure there will be lots of people selling them online in your country. Carolyn - I am a long time follower of your beautiful blog but cannot remember if I ever commented before. I was very honoured when you repinned the photo of my old white Stanley Stove decorated for Christmas on Pinterest! Your blog has been a constant source of inspiration for me as I have a vintage china hire and event styling business. I have quite a number of the same teacups you have in my own collection and have used the Crown Ducal Florentine plates on wedding tables before. It is a dream of mine to visit Canada one day as my great grandmother was born in Nova Scotia and came from a wealthy and prestigious family. I understand there are streets in Halifax named after the family. When that happens I do hope it will coincide with one of your garden tours or vintage tea parties as I would dearly love to attend one!
