Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying these hot
sunny summer days! I can't believe
that June is already past so I am
wanting time to slow down a little so
we can savor the moments as the
garden is in full bloom with hundreds
of peonies,roses,iris,hardy geranium etc.
putting on a great show.
However,it is tea time in our little
Martha's Garden today with the
beautiful white Magican Deutiza's
in bloom ~ my favorite time in this
secluded hideaway.
I am using a mix of blue and white china.
I love this tablecloth that I got in
England a few years ago.
Did you notice the mirror in behind
Martha(the cement lady at the back)?
It reflects the garden and is facing north
with trees overhead so it doesn't reflect
the sun which could be a fire hazard ~
just a word of caution.
Martha's Garden
If you come back later I will take you
on a garden tour.I have been squeezing
out as much time as I can for taking
photos to share and to enjoy in the winter
months.
Our tours from Japan have been going
well but with 12 tours in less then a week
it has been busy.....but good!
I am joining BNOTP for Tablescape
Thursday and
Bernideen's Tea in the Garden party.
Take care,
Carolyn

OMG! What a beautiful garden you have!!! Love that teblecloth! The blue color suits your garden!! And the blue and white china looks lovely:) You mentioned that some Japanese are visiting your place, I envy them! Look forward to seeing the garden tour!
Your gardens are sheer magic. The tour goers are very lucky, indeed to be able to see these in person.
Have a wonderful weekend, Carolyn.
Hello Carolyn,
The blue and white china is so very attractive. How wonderful to sit in those beautiful surroundings and enjoy Afternoon Tea, so very English.
The use of the mirror really enhances that part of the garden. The reflections distract and excite the eye so that one does look more intently at the flowers and the statue than one might otherwise. A great device!
Your garden is looking wonderful. Everything so fresh and floriferous. Perfect!
Hi Carolyn,
A pink Deutzia was dedicated in our university's botanical garden on June 13 for Pink Days In Bloom! The white is lovely, too. Its the first time I had seen one.
Good tip re the mirror. Your garden is looking good. Wish I could be there for tea amongst the blooms!
Our garden is on a tour with 11 other private gardens this weekend, hoping that Hurricane Arthur stays away!
Hugs,
Linda at Beautiful Ideas
Your garden is looking just beautiful, Carolyn! A perfect spot to enjoy a spot of tea!
Your garden is wonderful, Carolyn; a little get-away from the rest of the world. I can imagine the fairies dancing about in your Martha's Garden. Love the Skye McGhie tea set. The tablecloth is lovely and a sweet momento of England. You are a busy lady and we all appreciate you taking the time to share some beauty with us. Have a beautiful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Beautiful setting...beautiful tablecloth...beautiful china. I love all of this and how you have created such a lovely, elegant table.
A pretty blue and white tea in Martha's Garden. We wait a long time over winter for all this colour in the gardens.
More I know you, and more I feel breathless following your blog and the far too charming things that you share with us !
Thank you so much, my dear Carolyn, Happy 4th of July to you and to all American readers of yours <3
Sending love X
Dany
