Hello everyone,
I hope all of you that were affected by yesterday's Blizzard are
now plowed out and have had your power restored......it was
more like the old fashioned storms we used to get in winter...
but wait a minute this is spring!
Oh well, it could be worse we could be getting more......
but wait a minute~ did I hear another storm for Sunday?
Do I sound bitter....yep ,I am a bit!
Much as I love the four seasons~ I don't want them all to have
snow!!!
Now, that I have vented let's enjoy the rest of the time
together with tea and scones.
The tea cups are old and have the wheat pattern and the teapot
with the bird on top came from Winner's a few years ago.
The scone recipe came from Pink Piccadilly Pastries blog and if
you have never visited Jina before you are in for a treat ~ she
makes the most beautiful pastries. I could spend all day pinning
from her beautiful pinterst boards as well.....great way to pass
a stormy day!
Beautiful milk glass pieces were loaned to me by my sweet
friend Snow...just for you to enjoy!
I took this shot this morning after our generous snowfall. That
pathway was compliments of my hard working husband.
Pretty isn't it??? Perfect for my white theme!
This is what our doorway looked like
after 35cm of snow and howling winds.
I jokingly told me hubby that after he got the path shovelled
out we should grab our suitcases and make a run for it!
Florida .....here we come. Why am I whining ~ I am not
the one out shoveling?
Our veranda this morning. Oh, to be Bella or
Madelief out enjoying spring blooms in their
lovely gardens already!

Rain for tomorrow though so at least some of this will
melt and with a little luck the forecast for more is snow
is just a cruel joke! Ha! Ha!
I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for
Tablescape Thursday.
Thank you for visiting me and for all your kind words
on my last post.

Oh my gosh Carolyn! I am complaining about our 20 mph winds and you have all that snow! Everything is so pretty. Snuggle in my dear ♥ Brooke
ReplyDeleteOh wow! The snow is beautiful from here but I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and delicious looking at the same time, Carolyn! It seems you had the perfect day for tea and scones. I haven't seen snow like that since we lived in New York! It's still annoying to deal with the snow showers that seem to pop up once a week here. I heard we are also expecting another one over the weekend sometime. Enough!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe all that snow piled up against the door! No wonder you're sick of it. I have to say though it looks like a winter wonderland out there.. soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteHope it warms up for you soon, take care, Maryann
QUE IMPRESIONANTE LA NEVADA!!
ReplyDeleteSON FOTOS PRECIOSAS PERO ODIO EL FRIO.
SALUDITOS
Pretty teacups, Carolyn! After that blizzard we had, one deserves a scone or two, don't you think? Thank goodness we don't get a storm like that very often! And the thought of more snow on the weekend is down right depressing. So, please pass me another scone. But this can't last forever, surely by mid-April the white stuff will all be gone and the daffodils and crocuses will be coming up. Enjoy your weekend. Maybe Sunday's snow will miss us!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Omg! I can't believe how much snow you got,,,,
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful I must admit ekkk....
Your white milk glass are stunning....
Everything looks beautiful and yummy....
I'll pray you will get nooooo more snow...
Smiles~
Mari
I feel your pain Carolyn! This all looks very familiar as I live in northern Wisconsin. I love your blog so much. When I feel the need to whine I just look back at all of your garden pics. You've helped me this winter A LOT. Lol! God bless.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, gorgeous and depressing - all. I still love winter but that storm you received IS just a cruel joke, my word!
ReplyDeleteTea and scones - the perfect panacea, Carolyn.
Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this pattern of milkglass and I'm a big time collector. Wow! I know that the tiered stand is fenton and I don't know that I've seen this piece. Oh my I'm loving this tablescape and all the white. I also love your header. Absolutely beautiful!
OMG! I cannot believe all that snow at the end of March, wow! Your teascape is gorgeous, I love all your White details and yes, it goes with the weather, beautifully! Very lovely teapot.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
Thanks so much for the sweet words Carolyn!! I really appreciate it!! Your scones look absolutely beautiful!! I love the soft light and how you filled your scones with cream!! Scrumptious looking!! The snow is beautiful but I know you've had enough now!! I can't wait to see some new pictures of your gardens! xo! Jina
ReplyDeletePEI sure got a doozie of a storm yesterday. My oh my. We had wild winds here but only 10 cm. of snow, however, the storm on Sunday could make up for the lack of snow yesterday. I don't know where spring is hiding do you?
ReplyDeleteHoly cow - that is amazing!!! We had snow on our door like that many years ago after a blizzard with 60 mile an hour wind shears. That's what they call it in Colorado - weird "wind shears". It must be hard to hear people like me say how lovely it looks so I won't! Lovely posting!
ReplyDeleteLovely post
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Even your evergreen has laid down defeated by the snow. I suspect no one will be happy to see snow for awhile, even next winter, after the storms of this year.
ReplyDeleteComing from a part of New Zealand that doesn't get snow, I am amazed by your photos. You could have been snowed into your house, how on earth did you get through the front door?
ReplyDeleteYour photos and styling are delightful, I especially love the ones with the white daisys and I do love the delicate pink cups and saucers. Thank you for sharing those amazing photos of the snow too.
Lee :)
You have such lovely milk glass pieces...love them all.

ReplyDeletethank you again & again for your lovely images Carolyn. ♡ your comment about 'making a run for it' made me laugh. the milk glass was perfect for such a snowy day.. although perfectly sweet all year long, of course! yes, the stand is fenton & the paneled grape patterned milk glass pieces are Westmoreland. counting the days until your new book is available. thank you for the constant inspiration carolyn. snow x ~ http://www.pinterest.com/paraskasplace/my-sweet-island-friend-carolyn-aiken-x-~-aiken-hou/
ReplyDeleteMy gosh, after seeing your pictures of more snow (BIG snow!), I won't complain about the weather where I live - dreary, windy, but a LITTLE warmer.
ReplyDeleteStill lovin' your blog.
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWell Oh I am so sorry about all the snow... I can only imagine how frustrating it must be!! Just keep your mind on the amazing garden that will come!! I wonder if you will snap into spring and warmth so fast everything will go into overdrive and bloom at once!
I must admit I have had snow envy (early on, not now, haha!) We haven't had a good snow in a couple years. This winter was barely a winter at all. I like the seasons too and missed it.
Thank you for the shout out!!
On to tea!! Your tea is beautiful, the scones divine, yummy!! I love the single lily tucked in the vase, they are sometimes hard to arrange, and this is so lovely, I will remember to copy your idea!
Wishing you Spring!!
Hugs,
Bella
You deserve many treats. You have had a winter!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful but I know you are tired and ready for it to come again next winter and be gone for now!
Your post is lovely with the milk glass and those scones are making me hungry.
So very sorry for all the snow. If I opened the door and saw all of that snow, I'd just slam it shut and go back to bed. I'd get all snuggly warm and read a good book. Love your tea ideas and thanks to the link to Jina's pastries. They look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle that after "commenting" on all the snow, that everything in your pics was white, finally relieved by the gorgeous pink tulips - Whew! We missed the snow this time, but the wind -- wow! We lost a couple of shingles off our roof! (Time for a new roof!) And we lost power, but only for about an hour. We'll see how it goes this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's really pretty. It reminds me of when I was a little girl - we lived in Chicago. My siser and I were in the path Dad cleared - it was above our heads - love your milk glass tablescape - my daughter loves milk glass, I'll have to show her! You're welcome to come down to Georgia for the sun anytime!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kathy
Oh Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI hoped you would have some spring weather by now, but all that snow....
Your white tablescape looks lovely! It's always a joy coming here to see what's on your table :-)
Have a lovely Sunday!
Madelief x
I laughed aloud reading your comment about not wanting all seasons to have snow! It does seem like this is a year of "endless winter"! Our snowbanks are still huge and it is cold so they aren't melting! Your beautiful white t'scape and yummy looking treats (and yes, your gorgeous outside pics!) are adding some warmth to my day!
ReplyDeleteDD
Carolyn, you live in Wonderland...dont'you?
ReplyDeleteA big hug ,
Franca
That is a lot of snow!
