Hello everyone,
I hope your week is going well. Not that I am complaining but we did
wake up to yet another coat of fresh snow over night. With no wind to
blow it around, the trees are laden with lots of snow(pretty) but sadly
so is our roof and balcony so I am afraid that is more shoveling unless
we get a good wind tonight.
Anyway, indoors all is cozy and warm and for a change I am using
my blue and white transferware dishes in our kitchen/dining room.
As usual, I am using a mix of different patterns ~ some of you may recognize my
Spode teacups.
Love this old pitcher with the sweet little roses.
Love this soup tureen from an auction sale several years ago with a
platter from a yard sale under it.
Some of the china is new like this Skye McGhie Rhapsody plate and
tea cup.
Some are old like this transferware plate.
The tea pot is also Skye McGhie but Rose Brocade.
I love this little teapot with the tea cup underneath..I found this at a
little shop in Mahone Bay a few years ago.I also have one in red and
white. I know.......I am a tea pot addict(I won't mention a dish addict)!
My treasure from the 70 mile yard sale 2 years ago.
The pitcher was another 70 mile yard sale treasure.
So, I am all set for my company tomorrow ~ hope they like blue and
white as much as I do!
I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteit's a very good idea to collect
old china.
Your mix and match is beautiful.
Greetings from germany, Olga
I love this table set up in blue and white. I made a cobalt blue and white table yesterday and went to load the pics on my computer and my cable line that feeds the wire to camera to computer broke off. I had to order a new cable from Amazon and will have to wait till it comes to load my blue and white table.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous tablescape! You have a lovely collection of dishes.
ReplyDeleteMy faves are the tea-for-one teapot and cup and the footed covered dish you got at the yard sale a couple years ago. Lucky company. Lucky you.

ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteBlue and white always warms the heart and never goes out of style. Your collection and presentation is absolutely gorgeous.
Best, Ruthie
What a lovely tablescape, Carolyn! The blue looks so pretty with the white roses. You got some wonderful pieces at the Yard Sale. And yes, we do have the same soup tureen. Have a wonderful day and weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Fique bem.
Lauriane
I have loved blue & white transferware dishes since I first noticed them at age 14 then when I was 21 I started collecting and haven't stopped.
ReplyDeleteYours are all delicious and beautiful. I do love the tea pot with the little cup under it
Hi Carolyn What a treat it must be to sit at your table for tea or a meal. Of course you know I love everything about this tablescape today :) I have the same linen napkins as the ones you have here. Always a joy to visit you in your beautiful home. Rhondi xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and fresh colors :)
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I can't imagine anyone not liking blue and white! This table is full of beauty. Love the various tea pots. I think there are a large number of us in the addiction category. Where do you get all your lovely flowers in the dead of winter?
ReplyDeleteCarolyn:
ReplyDeleteYour mix of blue and white is just lovely. I'd love to have you share it at Seasonal Sundays.

Beautiful! I love your posts and study them closely as they are always filled with such beauty! I love the blue and white as my grandmother had a full set of similar china.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have so many things on my wish list and blue is one of them. Really like the mixing of the different patterns. We need all the cheery things we can get with the weather making it so gloomy! We are to have another cold spell coming tomorrow so think I will play with my dishes.
ReplyDeleteCathy's Cupboard Calamity<:)
Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! I love it all! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness golly, Carolyn!!! Your blue table is just gobsmackingly pretty!!
ReplyDeleteJust loving your table setting; blue and white a firm favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteHi, I was wondering if you have any posts where you identify the patterns of particular dishes? I've searched and searched every "blue dishes" or "blue transferware" or "blue and white china" possible, and yet I still can't seem to find the level of NICE in your photos. I have identified maybe 3 pieces (by luck) but there is so much I'd love to look up if possible.
