Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your week and getting into the Christmas spirit.
I have the table all set for you in my mismatched brown & white
transferware and added some holiday touches.
Cute little pinecone candles add a nice touch.
Most of my transferware came from local thrift shops but the soup tureen
came from an antique barn in Maine a few years ago.
This teapot is 'Brown Botanical" by Skye McGhie and I have not seen one around here since ~
I am often asked about it when I share it.
The tree is an old artificial one which works good in the kitchen where
a wood pellet stove keeps it too warm for a real one. I am hoping to get a
real one up soon in our library.
Santa popped in to check things out!
Now, it is time for a nice cup of spice tea.
If you would like to see where I display my brown and white transferware click here.
headed our way for Sunday bringing a good supply of snow!

You've set a nice table with your brown and white transferware. I recently found a purple TW plate but there won't be any collection happening.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see so many place settings for your large family.
I enjoyed the Christmas book Carolyn, well put together.

It's a beautiful setting, Carolyn! It looks so comfy and cozy in this room, too. Some place that would invite lingering over conversation and something warm to drink.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are supposed to get more snow coming Friday night and into Saturday. That means a run to the grocery store tomorrow morning to stock up on the necessities.
What a beautiful table. The brown tranferware is simply elegant among the rustic of the pine cones and the evergreen and berries in the pitcher. Just breath-taking! Thanks for sharing.

What a gorgeous set of brown transfer ware you have, Carolyn! A few months ago I found one platter at an estate sale for $15. It is the only piece I have, but I cherish it.

ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYour teapot is lovely. Do you remember my friend Sandra? Well, she contributed a teapot from her giftshop just like yours for an animal welfare fundraiser I was organizing some years ago! I've always loved it. Glad to know you've gotten another pellet stove in your kitchen. Your table is heartwarming to see.

Let's Add Sprinkles
Absolutely magnificent, Carolyn! It's always such a delight when I visit here! I wish I had more time for blogs, but looked like I no longer find it. You're on my list of favorites, though :)
ReplyDeleteI love brown transferware, I've been hunting for it for so many years, and finally last Autumn, when Jillayne of A Fine Seam was here in the Cotswolds, I was so lucky to find some pieces (with pheasants) while shopping with her! I hope to add some to my collection in the future, your tablescape is just my kind of setting.
Your home is a Christmas wonderland...
Hugs,
xoxo
Your Transferware is beautiful and so is your table.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. I hopped over here from Lady Lydia's blog. PEI is so lovely. We took a family trip there many years ago when we lived in FL. I hope that we will make it back. (We have since added 3 more children who need to see lovely PEI.) :O)
