Happy Weekend!
I hope your weekend is going well. It is really cold here today but we are
expecting a big winter snow storm tomorrow.......the grocery stores were packed today!
A few weeks ago I dug out my Friendly Village dishes for winter and put away the more summery
ones. Also, moved the cupboard into the library from the hallway as my daughter gave me her old
cupboard for the hall. That gave me a whole new place to display my china....more on that one later.
I am sharing this photo because a couple of you asked for the name of my old brown and white
soup bowls from my last post. They look pretty old so not sure how hard it is to find them
but happy hunting!
We are going to a birthday party for our 96 year old aunt who is pretty excited about her
party.........we should all be so blessed!
Thank you for visiting and for all your kind words on my last post.
Stay warm!
Carolyn
You almost made me change what I have in my everyday of the year in my hutch... for my C'mas dishes, but no, I would if I had a Friendly Village china too, lol! I love this dishes and your china looks gorgeous. You were lucky your daughter gave you another hutch too!
ReplyDeleteMerry C'mas.
FABBY
The perfect time for your Friendly Village. I imagine you having a large and well organized basement!
ReplyDeleteI love the Friendly Village set, Carolyn! You've got such great pieces and they look so pretty displayed in your hutch. I only have a few pieces that I've found here and there over this past year, but I'm keeping my eye out for more. I wish I had a hutch to display them in, but there's no room for one here anyway. So I just admire them when I take them out and use them for dinner! : )
ReplyDeleteIt just looks so amazing - so perfect for the entire winter - and WOW what an ambple collection you have there - love love love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your sweet and dear auntie. I am praying for her good health and happiness. Enjoy.
I love those dishes and I also like how you have crochet lace on your hutch.
ReplyDeleteYou displayed your collections beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI have never really had a collection of Christmas china dishes but this year I would have loved to have had such pretty dishes as yours. Your cupboad looks great. Wishing your Aunt a very Happy Birthday!

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI imagine you're into "the thick of it" now, heard the news reports about the storm and it's headed our way! So, Midge and I are gittin' out now and gittin' 'er done! Lol We have the calm before the storm at this moment, a bright sunny day and no snow - YET! Always love seeing your collections.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteYour china really captures a beautiful winter of long ago. I have a cousin in Cape Breton who mentioned today that she went on a sleigh ride with her elderly father and young daughter. I wish I'd been there to join them in the same sleigh my mother rode in as a girl.

A nice china pattern for the winter months and so nice that it can be out on display.
ReplyDeleteWe're taking my 93 year old friend from the garden club out for lunch this week, amazing how well some people age. This one was a teacher and never married - her explanation for a long and healthy life.
Veramente belle le tue porcellane, fanno venire voglia di Natale,di favola di inverno!

I have some Friendly Village pieces I bid for on Ebay a few years ago, and love them. I don't have all the variety you have -- they look beautiful on display. I especially like the teapot and pitcher.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the birthday party -- how special!
Lové your cozy corner filled with beauty, a wonderful spot to dream of Christmas. The cupboard is beautifully filled with holiday settings trimmed with fine laces.
ReplyDeleteThat chair would fit right in at home in my rooms, just love it.

What a beautiful display in your hutch. You are blessed with a big house to hold these lovely hutches and cabinets that display your beautiful china! This is one of my favourite patterns and I really admire it. The storm was severe here but is over now. We got a LOT of snow! Take care. Pamela
ReplyDeleteWow, what a gorgeous collection! I love how you've displayed it. I have one small pitcher that I found at a thrift. It's a little sad all by it's lonesome. lol!
