Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying a good week. We have been busy working on spring projects indoors so I have been a bit absent here this week.
However, today I have set my table with some of my brown and white transferware. As you might know I love transferware and have collected it in several colors here and there over the years.
This is one of my favorite pieces ~ my husband gave me this for my birthday a few years ago. It came from an antique mall in Maine.
Once again, I have used mix and match pieces.
A pretty teapot.
Some very old soup bowls.
Mix and match again-just using what I have.
I am off to have tea with friends this afternoon so I better go scrub the paint of my hands!
I am joining BNOTP today for Tablescape Thursday.
and French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday.
Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn
so nice table and transferware § I collect them in pink and use them every day and it's a real pleasure !

ReplyDeleteI love transferware, and over the past few years brown has become one of my favorite colors. Your pieces are fantastic, and I really like that you mixed and matched. Thanks for taking the time to share!
ReplyDeleteThat table setting reminds me of my grandmother's brown Johnson Brothers dishes. Lucky me, they are mine now.
ReplyDeleteI love transferware and you seem to have quite a collection! I love the spot of pink with the brown! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Carolyn! Brown and white transferware is my favorite {although I love all the colors}. You may have a mix and match table, but they all work to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn! This is so lovely! Your transferware is gorgeous and you always set the most beautiful tables.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well and be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Pretty china; I like the soup tureen and teapot. Well, I like everything, maybe I should lay I'm drooling over the 2 pieces most.

Oh how I love brown transferware. Especially yours and your tables cape. It's just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Carolyn! I saved the first picture and am using it as my home page on my iPad, so I will think of you every time I open it up. So pretty.

Such a lovely table! Wonderful china!
ReplyDeleteThe brown is my favorite in transferware....something so calm and soothing about it, and so old fashioned......beautiful table you have set!!!
ReplyDeleteI love brown transferware, too. Your collection is beautiful, and it's wonderful on the matelasse with the glorious blooms. I was fascinated to learn that at one point brown transferware fell totally out of favor. It evidently sat on store shelves so long that vendors starting calling it 'dead ware'. No longer! It's beautiful! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and beautiful tablescape, Carolyn. It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo where did you go for tea?
Does that ever sound nice to me!
Today is hubs birthday so I am getting ready for that.
I love transferware and the brown is one of my favorites! Have you seen the blog Nancy's Daily Dish?
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous table! I love that tureen, and the teapot looks so pretty perched on a pedestal. Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh Carolyn
ReplyDeleteI love the transferware too but it's very hard to find where I am.
The brown and white is my favorite colour way.
Your oblong tureen is lovely!
Sending you some summer sunbeams from my corner of the world!

Carolyn, this is lovely. I'm especially taken with that special teapot. Such a gorgeous shape! I too have transfer ware in several colors, but brown is what I'm most drawn to. Thanks for sharing your table. Such fun to see these pieces.

Dear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteMixing and matching. That is the best way. More interesting, I think.
Cherry Kay such information in the above comment about brown transferware falling out of favor. Wow. Interesting tid bit. I love it in all colors. Nancy's Daily Dish has amazing collections. I would love to have purple. My grandmother used to have a set of that.
Love the tureen your hubby gave you.
