Hello everyone!
We are in the middle of a winter storm here on the Island so most of us are housebound.I think this storm has affected many of you too as it seems to have hit the New England states and eastern Canada.
I think a day or two at home without work or shopping etc. is a good thing for us once in awhile. As,it is a good time to enjoy a winter pastime like knitting or crafting. It does sound like we are getting a couple of days of wind and snow this time-so snuggle in!
A good day to enjoy comfort foods by the fire.
or a good time to enjoy reading a book.
Sipping some hot cocoa.
Or maybe you just want to curl up and have an afternoon nap.
Hope you are enjoying some peace and quiet on this stormy winter day!
Stay warm and cosy,
Carolyn
Hi Carolyn
ReplyDeleteHope you are warm and safe. We sure had a ton of snow here in Ontario yesterday. It was bright and sunny today. Hopefully tomorrow you will get that.
I love all the pictures and the colors..yes..just perfect. Dianntha
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWe, too, are housebound tonight! Watching a fun movie...It's nice to slow down every now and then. LOVE the blues (the dishes, that is) Lol ...And, the soup looks yummy. :-)

It sounds like you have pleasant hours ahead, Carolyn. I love the fresh, spring-like colour of the yarn you're using.

The cream and aqua dishes together are so beautiful. What a winning combination. We have been following the storm and heard that it is up your way now. We had snow for 24 hours and are digging out now. At least the sun shone today and I found a fabulous tea-cup so no complaints. :) Have a nice Sunday. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteWould love to relax at any of those lovely places in your home.
ReplyDeleteThe snowman mugs especially beckon me today!
Olá Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteque bom ter notícias que está tudo bem com vocês. Estamos acompanhando os noticiários e sabendo da tempestade de neve nos Estados Unidos e Canadá.
Fiquem bem!

No matter what the weather, it always looks so warm and comforting at your home.

Stay safe....and cozy.

All wonderful ideas for a snowy day. I always sort of enjoy getting snowed in once in awhile. (As long as I don't lose power!!!!!) I live in the country with all electric and a well so when the electricity goes out, I have nada!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are weathering the storm so well, all the beautiful coazy comforts. Yes I agree it is nice to slow down once in awhile and enjoy some quiet time. I saw you in Flea Market Magazines garden style issue, lovely work!!

Hello Carolyn...I did, indeed, have a calm, peaceful and quiet day.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just enticing. Sooooo nice to curl up on that lovely bed and shnooze.
Everything looks great! Susan
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWe saw your snow report on television last night it looks like the best place to be is inside in front of the fire.
Merle....
Hi Carolyn, glad you faired the storm. We are on Cape Cod and we did well but others lost their power...and it will be some time before it is on. Much clean up is now in progress. Your pictures look so inviting...warm and cozy indeed. Blessings, Karen @ acapecodnest.
ReplyDeleteOnce again lovely photos Carolyn.. Here in Holland we have some snow too, but it isn't half as bad as it is at yours...
ReplyDeleteHugs
Erna x
Gorgeous photos with a lovely tranquil feel to them. We've been hearing about the awful snowstorms in the eastern US and Canada. Curling up with some knitting or a good book definitely seems like the best option under the circumstances:)
ReplyDeleteOh Carolyn,I so love your home, the colours are so soft. That wool is to die for,the colour is delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are lovely.
Keep warm,it sounds like you are,we have mid 20's celcius, just perfect. It is going back up into the high 30's mid week though. Not looking forward to that. It keeps us house bound too. x
Che foto stupende! Molto dolci e rilassanti!
ReplyDeleteWe were hit with a snow storm here in Troy on Friday night. I am not complaining though because so far we haven't had much snow to dig ourselves out of this winter. I love the snow but I don't like having to shovel it or drive in it.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn! You must have had the same idea like me. We didn't have any snow storm but it's much too cold and windy to go outside, so I decided to do a bit of crochet today.
ReplyDeleteI hope the storm won't hit you too bad, happy crafting,
Marian
Yesterday I thought of you because we heard from the storm in USA and Canada, I hope you are safe and warm in house.
ReplyDeletewonderful colours of your tea cup and the rest, I like it.
Have a good and save time in winter storm,
all the best, cornelia
I would be so happy to have a snowbound day, but alas, it appears we will not have one this year.
ReplyDeleteYour post made me imagine what I would do with a snow day...maybe reading for a day would be fun.
Enjoy!
Love this color blue you've brought in, Carolyn. I love having soup on a cold day; hot chocolate, too! That is my favorite afternoon drink in the Winter. Hopefully, you aren't snowbound for long. It wears thin after a couple of days!
ReplyDeleteHaving homemade soup is the best!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cool blue yarn.
Yes I agree sometimes we just need to
sit back and enjoy the day!!
Love the blues going on here. Very soothing and pretty. Here in Ohio it feels more like Spring. Winter seems to have sputtered on out for us. Stay safe and warm!! ~Susie~
ReplyDeleteWoow! ...it's so beautiful! It's look's like the blue "Tiffany"... Kisses from Venice (Italy)
ReplyDeleteGosh that snow is deep, we don't have snow where I live in New Zealand as we are North, although they do get snow in the South. Your images are so pretty but I guess very cold.
ReplyDeleteI do love the duck egg blue of your china, so pretty.
Lee
I love all the pictures and the colors..
