Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a good week. I am enjoying the slower pace that we have in January, catching up with friends etc. I have also been enjoying having more time with my camera.
So one day recently ,I took some new shots of our reading nook.
This nook was two closets back in the days when this was our bedroom ~ it is our family room now. There are two big drawers underneath for great storage space. One of ours is used as a toy box for our grandchildren.
This is a great little spot to curl up with a book and a cup of tea.
The little ones seem to love to play up here when they all come to visit-sometimes pulling the curtains together to make their own little hideaway.
It was an overcast day when I took these shots and I probably should have waited for a sunny day but sometimes when the mood strikes it best to plow on!
It was a beautiful winter day here today and I was out and about taking lots of photos to share next week.
I hope you didn't mind revisiting our reading nook.
I am joining My Romantic Home for Show & Tell Friday.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
Carolyn

Unfortunately I live in a flat in a big city. But I'll furnish my second house on the sea as much as possible to yours. Does it matter if my second house is on the Mediterranean sea? We use to furnish these kinds of villas with sunny and very bright colors, in a style named "vietrese". But I'll do my best to create a sweet atmosphere like your home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the pics you share.

Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteIt seems like yesterday this was being built. Now it looks more warm and inviting than you're other cozy nooks.
I too came across a hand crocheted coverlet last year. Estate sale down the street for a 90 y/o lady, and the daughter (60) had no desire to keep 'old' treasures. So for a dollar and then I tossed a brass vintage lamp into the pile for another, my day.. no week.. no year was complete in treasure hunting.
God does bless those who seek to cherish long hard work done by our hands.
Happy weekend.
warm hugs,
Cotton Peony
back from the beach, now I wish I was still there until the end of the month with this wee cold spell and touch of snow.
Your reading nook is just gorgeous and I understand also for the children. We have a place like that and the grandchildren are always making tents and hide-aways on it. But I suppose you put your beautiful lace and pillows in the cupboard than. I think it's wonderful to sit there with a book and a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful reading nook! I would never want to sit anywhere else but there! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect spot - to crawl up with a book or to take a nap.

I really, really would like to be sitting there today! It's so pretty and welcoming, Carolyn, it makes me look at closets in my house with consideration for their future!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always.
