Transferware Dishes

                                                             Welcome!

It seems like Fall is marching right along-hard to believe it is already November! We have been busy working on some projects and so I haven't had time to take many new pictures so I am sharing some old ones of my transferware dishes. Some of these dishes are very old and others are new.

I seem to be drawn to all transferware dishes so it is hard to pick a favorite-what about you,do you have a favorite?

This last one makes me realize just how soon it is until I will be decorating for Christmas once again!
Today is the start of the blowout fall bulb sale at Veseys warehouse on the Brackley Point Rd for anyone still wanting to get some tulips etc. It just so happens I have room for a few more! It seems where my daffodils have multiplied over the years many of my tulips have not been perennial so I need to replace some every fall for a beautiful spring show.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and emails on my last post and once again welcome to my new followers. I have been asked if I was going to have my Christmas blog this year and I have decided not to have one this year due to the time required but I will be looking forward to posting Christmas on this blog soon!

Today I am joining French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday The Charm of Home for Home Sweet Home and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Carolyn

  2. Lovely transferware, Carolyn! Sometimes I think I have a favorite when it comes to transferware, but usually it is whatever color is in front of me! My largest (though still small) collection is blue, or maybe brown/multi. But I have a little black, teal, red. (actually, not much red -- only a restaurantware piece).

Anyway...your blog is new to me in the past year, so I didn't know about your Christmas blog! Do you have an archive available for browsing?
    Thanks, Wendy

  3. Oh, Carolyn! What am I going to do? I'm still trying to dig a garden border but, for two months, now, it won't stop raining. And, here it is - already time to put bulbs in and 'spring clean' for Christmas.... =O

It's funny that you asked which was a favorite dish pattern or color... I had been chuckling to myself, as I scrolled down because there's no way to choose! =]

  5. Well, now! I have been even more absent than usual from blogland this past month and I've just had one of my good old fashioned catch ups! ;) =/ =]

and, reading your blog is always encouraging - always so festive. I've needed to celebrate autumn a little bit. It was SUCH a busy month, this year, and the weather was so wonky that I feel like, once again, I've missed it! Also, of course, here in the States, we haven't had our Thanksgiving, yet, and that does hold us back from thinking too deeply about Christmas. I'm not quite ready to jump into winter, yet!!! Sandy wasn't too ferocious for us but, alas, she definitely did finish off most of the leaves for us; so, after saying all of this... I've been looking at your photos and sighing. Looking back at all of your autumn colors and decorations, etc. is so festive and cheery for me. Kind of like a last look and remembrance, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, it's all so lovely and inviting - your home and gardens. I love seeing the photos of your young friends and it's very sweet to see the pictures of your two young fairies. I have a clone trooper, zombie and ninja warrior - sigh! =S =D

So, hugs and kisses to you and yours, Carolyn! =]

  6. Oh my goodness, what a collection. So much beauty here. My favorite...hmmmm, I'd have to say the blue and white with the brown very close behind. I love the look of the toile tablecloth at Christmas with your red and white. I would have never thought of that. Gorgeous! Deb
