Romantic Valentine's Dinner

Hello everyone,
We enjoyed a beautiful but cold winter day today. I love the sunlight streaming into our home-it just seems so cheerful.
Last week I found this rather elegant china sitting in a box at the thrift shop so I scooped it up for an elegant Valentine's Day dinner. I know it is not Valentine's Day yet, but you know how organized I am. Ha! Ha!
Some beautiful creamy roses were the perfect match.

The wood fireplace is crackling in the background.
There were six cups and saucers in the box too.

The beautiful Noritake teapot was a  gift from a lovely couple from Newfoundland who came for a garden tour last summer. I will always treasure it-thank you,Sandra!

Well, the table is set now all I have to do is cook!

I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday  and Bernideen's Tea Time for Friend's Sharing Tea.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

  5. Hi Carolyn,
Oh, I love the quiet elegance of this new set of tableware. And, is that the beautiful teapot that my friend Sandy gave you when she visited last June? I think I recognize it from a photo on the internet when I was helping her choose one for you??? I'd love to see a close up of it (if it's the one). Lol

  6. Oh what a lovely tablescape you have created, Carolyn!

And what a sweet find! That will go year round with nearly everything!

And should you not be serving tea (gasp) or coffee, those are the perfect size and shape cups for a wonderful hot creamed soup....lobster bisque? Maybe cream of mushroom with wild rice? clam chowder?

MMMMMMMMMM. Your tablescape just made me very hungry.

    Beautiful, just beautiful!

  15. Beautiful monochromatic look. I'm not a fan of red so this is my kind of Valentine table. Great find with those dishes and the teapot is so pretty!

  23. I'm here again, Carolyn! I just noticed the close shot of the Noritake teapot. I must have missed it earlier. I do love it, very elegant, indeed. I hope you enjoy it as it came from my friend Sandy's beautiful store, A Special Touch, here in Newfoundland. The colours are so sweet and dainty aren't they?! Just like you! Lol

I hope you and Andrew are having a nice evening. I've been invited to a breast cancer support group tonight (my first ever) to talk about Pink Days in Bloom! Exciting news - just learned today that we have a generous donation of a patio table, chairs, and sunbrella ensemble for our Pink Days fundraising ticket 'Patio Makeover' feature prize. Hooray! It's been busy with being back to work and all, but I hope to be in touch soon...
