Hello everyone,
We have had a couple of cool windy days-not our usual July weather but the garden is doing well, so let's have a look!
The delphinium and John Cabot rose(above) look pretty together.
We have several varieties of Mock Orange in bloom now giving the garden a lovely fragrance.
Mock Orange
Clematis and a hanging basket
The foxglove did well this year.
there are still peonies blooming in the garden.
Balcony views-a tall mock orange and a shorter variety below it perfume the house and garden.
The tall shrub blooming in the background is a Japanese Ivory Silk Lilac and it has a most beautiful fragrance that you can enjoy for quite a distance. The rose is a Snow Pavement and it also has a lovely fragrance and a pretty blush pink bloom.
I hope you enjoyed a little tour of the garden. To any Islanders out there-we will be having a fund raiser tour of the garden for a good cause in early August and I will keep you posted on further details soon.
We have a garden tour tomorrow and the sunshine is supposed to return-yea!
Visit Hakan if you would like to see more gardens.

Everything is so beautiful. We are having record breaking heat this year and it has not been good for my yard and garden. It is so nice to be able to enjoy someone else's flowers and yard. I can almost smell the fragrances. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou have such gorgeous flowers, and they look so pretty against each other. Beautiful gardens that take a lot of work, but so worth it!! Glad it's still cool enough there..wish you could share it though...it's 100 ish here every day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Doni

ReplyDeleteSorry about that... it's still early! I meant to say "of" rather than "have"! L

ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful...just amazing. I sure wish I could be there to tour your garden. The Delphinium are amazing!
Your garden is beautiful beyond words, Carolyn ~
ReplyDeleteI just love looking at your gardent and dreaming of how I can make mine half as beautiful. Some wonderful new plants you introduced me to today. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you share your beautiful garden with us. Most of the blooms that you are enjoying right now we enjoyed a couple of months ago. Our heat and humidity in N FL really stresses our gardens. I am looking forward to cooler temperatures in the Fall when I will get back to my garden but in the meantime it is such a JOY to enjoy your garden.
Do you by any chance remember the name of that clematis? It is such a huge bloom. One of your readers sent me the name of a good source for clematis and I would truly love to find that particular clematis that you showed.

Beautiful, lush and romantic and I can only imagine the magic you make inside too. Gorgeous gardens Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteOh Carolyn that was a lovely stroll through your beautiful garden! Thanks so much for that tour!
ReplyDeleteI know it must require work...but aren't most of those plants and flowers perennials? I like the kind that return every year.
I have so many allergies and health issues, that I don't think I could do a lot of gardening...but I sure enjoy the beauty of a garden.
Enjoy!
And God Bless You!

So very beautiful. It's a treat to see plants that do not grow way down south in the US. The love of your garden certainly shows in the blooms and foliage.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Carolyn. Just like taking a holiday when I visit your beautiful blog. I love the hearts on your shutters...lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteyour garden is a dream! I love it!
Enjoy,
Bine
Wow, your garden is gorgeous! How many gardeners have you for help :o). Thank you so much for this nice tour.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Alex
Always brightens my day to read you've posted a garden tour. I love mock orange. Such a beautiful scent. I have a few in my garden. xx
ReplyDeleteHvor har du en smuk have. Rigtig mange skønne blomster.
ReplyDeleteTak for kigget.
Carolyn your garden is spectacular. I almost want to move somewhere that will grow peonies now. They are by far my very favorite flowers...well, I do love roses...and lavender and foxglove and...... oh lucky lucky you and anyone who gets to walk in your beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks, for a wonderful tour in your garden!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLove Elzie
Beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteYou garden is stunning! I love your blog and am so glad I found it by clicking your comment about our project. Will definitely be following it...
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, Thank for the lovely tour of your garden, it looks stunning. Loved the laundry post. Hope the sun is shining, take care.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how large your Delphiniums and Foxglove are! I grow them every year, but they are just puny compared to your. You must have amazing soil. Here in California we have lots of sunhsine, but the soil is very thick and clay-like...no matter what I put into it...including compost tea! I loved the tour of your amazing garden.
ReplyDeleteA fairy tale garden, it blooms again with you so wonderful I love the foxgloves and peonies, quite simply magical.
ReplyDeleteBest regards Melontha
Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely photo tour! Your delphinium and foxglove are a dream. I have such struggles with both here in WI. Is that an old fashioned bathtub I see peeking out of a structure or is that just my wishful thinking?? So lovely, Thanks bunches for sharing! V
Olá Querida!!
ReplyDeleteLindissímo post, imagens do seu jardim maravilhoso, aliás tudo aqui é belo!!!
Bjos Carinhosos!
So beautiful...what a lovely garden to spend time in. It's nice to see how luch and green everything is in your part of the country.
ReplyDeleteJuly has been very, very dry here in southern Ontario. Our lawn (and everyone else's) is like straw...yellow and crunchy. We've only had 4mm of rain this month...not good at all. Hope we get some rain soon!
Wish I were there now, Carolyn, to smell those orange blossoms and see the roses blooming. The cupcakes look very enticing....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
Wow those Delphiniums... take my breath away. And the Foxgloves - sooo stunning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing me around your beautiful garden. Will look in again.
Hugs
Eva
