Cottage Tablescapes

Hello everyone,

I hope you are not getting tired with my cottage settings because I wanted to share my tablescape with you today.

I love the color of these dishes and ordinarily I might think summer but I think they also give a crisp wintery look to the cottage as well.

Ture to form these dishes were also a thrift shop find last year. They are a pretty aqua color but if you look closely they have a white design embossed on them.

The transfersware is the perfect match with them.
It is a casual comfy place to enjoy a little lunch.
I know some of you have seen this but some have not so I wanted to show the setting for our lunch today. It will have to be hot soup because it is a typical Remembrance Day here- cold and windy. We were pleased to have a good turn out at the service in town as we need to remember all our brave soldiers. We are thinking particularly of our Dads today(both my Dad & Andrews were over sea's in the Second World War). But, I also think of my Mom who lived in an occupied country(Holland) and lost her younger brother plus lived in fear for many years with food shortages and little heat in the winter. I think there are many things we take for granted when we live in a wonderful free country like Canada!
I made some hot chocolate for you to keep you warm inside!
Well, now that is it for me but if you go to Between Naps on the Porch  you will see all kinds of beautiful tablescapes that keep me ever so humble! Thank you Susan for hosting this big event every week.

Thank you for visiting me today,

Carolyn

  15. Aqua and white are pretty together, especially in your little cottage.
I'm enjoying your Christmas blog, so many ideas as I do not come by it naturally to be creative on my own.
I'm just back from the William Ashley once a year warehouse sale - wow, could have spent a fortune.

  16. Carolyn, I have never seen aqua and white transferware. Didn't know such a beauty existed. Almost makes me think of snowflakes. That's a laugh since I am in sunny Georgia, USA where it is 75 degrees today and only snows once every twenty years or so. And then not enough for a snowman. Simply pretty!

  23. The cool blue of your dishes reminds me of the cool blue of snow in bright sunlight. Wonderful spot for a lovely rest. We are grateful for the service of our fathers and the misery that the people of Holland had to endure during the war.
