Hello and welcome to my first day of summer, porch party. Summer has arrived and our screened porch is where we spend so much of our spare time, so I thought you might enjoy a visit.
The bed is a perfect place to curl up with a book and a cold lemonade or tea.
or a good place to sit and chat for awhile.
You can enjoy the fragrance of the peonies ,roses and honeysuckle nearby- oh, and I mustn't forget the lilacs!
We enjoy the view of the southern garden from up here.
Did you notice the shutters got a new coat of paint-the floor also but I guess you can't see that.
We enjoy many family gatherings on our porch in summer
Like our brunch a few weeks ago.
Get in line and help yourself-there is always plenty of food.
Or maybe you would rather afternoon tea?
Tea and scones, are always nice-don't you think?
Or a light lunch of soup and sandwich
Lemonade and cookies hit the spot on a hot summer day
Our grandson Alec eyeing his options for afternoon tea.
The barefoot hostess setting up for tea.
Some guests arrived!
Also a good place for tea with granddaughter Jessica
A cup of tea for you.
Maybe now,you would just like to curl up for awhile on the bed, to read or have a little nap!
I will tiptoe out now while you relax and visit with Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses who is hosting this fun party again. After your little nap join us over at Rhondi's lovely porch to see all the other pretty porches.
This is also Cielo's Show off your Cottage Monday over at the lovely house in the roses so I am going to join in there also-so more pretty places for you to go see also.
Thank you so much for visiting and I will have lots of garden photos to share with you later this week, if you would like to visit again.
Enjoy!
Carolyn
Carolyn, you are the most gracious hostess, and every time you welcome us into your home we are surrounded by beauty. I believe barefoot hostesses are the very best kind.
ReplyDeleteEvery detail is gorgeous. I love it all.
Hi Carolyn, I agree with Beverly. You are a wonderful and gracious hostess. Your home has such a welcoming feel to it. I know your guests enjoy their surroundings, the food and the company. That is exactly how it should be. Your home is lovely. Your blog is lovely....and that says a great deal about you! Loved the visit. I'm your new follower too!

OMGosh...this is an absolute DREAM PORCH. I just love it all. Everything is so so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour home is so lovely and I am just beside myself for a screened in porch. The problem out here on the plains of West Texas is that it would have to be glassed-in...we HAVE to have the air conditioning. So hot, windy and dry here.
Beautiful post !!
What a pleasure to visit your beautiful porch! I don't know how you get everything done--I would have a hard time leaving that porch! But then there are so many many lovely spaces. Such a darling birdcage--and I enjoy all your soft pinks and greens. I missed your last bench post over the busy weekend so I got to that too. Perfect for your gardens. And I love the way you dressed it all up! Best to you, Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,

ReplyDeleteYour porch looks like a lovely place to spend the entire day.
This brought back memories of a dear aunt, who had an enclosed porch where family loved to gather and laugh at funny stories.
I just love visiting you, it’s such a delight. Every thing is always so pretty and romantic.

Virginia

Love the photo of the tea and scones especially, but they are all lovely, as usual. I wondered if you did all that baking yourself, or did your family help? It all looks yummy...
ReplyDeleteCarolyn... so much prettiness... roses, porch, food, grandbabies, oh my.... and that covered porch with the bed--delicious. My husband would love love to have a bed in our back porch ;) thus far is just a settee...
