As some of you may know we have been doing some projects around our home. So, today I am sharing a few pictures of some of the work we have done on our livingroom.
We stripped off all the wallpaper and then we painted our fireplace. I think the old bricks were a bit dated so my husband agreed we could give them a coat of primer and then a couple of coats of our Victoriana Ralph Lauren paint that was used on all our trim including the stairway.
I got this new chair at Homesense.
I am leaning a little toward a French style lately.
See more below.
It is all so charming and inviting.

What a pretty inviting room you have created. It makes one want to come and "sit a spell," as we say here in the Deep South.

ReplyDeleteOoh, your living room is beautiful! I want to paint our fireplace white but I'm scared it would be hard to keep clean as we use it all winter.

absolutely Bee-You-Tee-Full! What a great post! I live in the house that my parents built in late 40's and just decided to paint our fireplace as well. There. I said it. (been scared to... afraid my Mama would show up and spank my 52 year old boo-hiney.) I dropped in from "My Romantic Home" and am so happy that I did. I will now follow you! Please accept my invitation to drop in at my place one day soon when you get a moment. until later...
ReplyDeleteCarolyn....I think it looks wonderful! We painted our stone on our fireplace white last year and we are so happy that we did. I did a post on it last year if you want to check it out. It was a lot of work but so worth it! ~Patti

A lovely room -- I, too, am leaning a bit more French nowadays!
ReplyDeleteThe painted bricks look wonderful. What is the lace that is draped on the mantel? It looks like hand crocheted trim. It gives it such a warm and cozy feeling.
ReplyDeletePatricia :o)
