Winter White

Hello and welcome,
Oh! it is a cold day today at minus 18 Celsius and a wind chill of minus 30. It is good to be warm and cozy indoors! I hope you will enjoy some winter whites in our little sunroom.
This week at the grocery store I bought some white tulips-they have so many pretty colors it is hard to pick just one.
I love the fragrance of these hyacinths although my husband is not a fan.
You can see by the frost on the windows that it gets cold in here at night-it is heated only by the sun. It is amazing though how the sun warms it up even in January. This little sunroom is upstairs of our bedroom and bath.It faces east and south so it has the sun most of the day.
I love this birdhouse.
Another collage of winter whites. I have over 500 collages that I made on my computer and I know I should delete some but I love them!
If you can, come back tomorrow for tea in the sunroom for White Wednesday.
I hope you have a good day and thank you for visiting.
Carolyn

  1. I love your pictures. So clean and refreshing. Outside our windows I just see fog this morning. Not so "purty".
    Have a great day!

  9. Dear Carolyn,

You are helping me get through winter. We got another 3 inches of the white stuff last night. Your sunroom looks amazing. I would love to have tea with in it someday.

  13. Hello Carolyn! Loved your post today. Soooooo refreshing. Had to chuckle at Joanne's comment. I should be doing the same....cleaning instead of sitting at the computer! Ha! Carolyn, why oh why don't you find a publisher and do a book with all of your fabulous photography? It would be a WINNER (and I would buy it along with hundreds of readers! Think about it.) Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

  15. Love your collage...I need to figure out how to do that too! I love the white tulips and hyacinths. I find that a lot of men don't care for their fragrance (also paperwhites). One of my friends hubby said they smell like kerosene! But then again, this is the same guy that wouldn't eat my french onion soup because he didn't like the smell when the cheese was melting under the broiler...go figure.
Stay warm and enjoy your flowers,
    Susie

  16. Hi Carolyn,

Beautiful white tulips! Do they all come from the Dutch family who grow them on the island? I like your birdhouse as well. It's more like a birdvilla!! Have a happy wednesday. Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, so I will go and visit them!

    Lieve groet, Madelief

  19. I wonder what it is about collages that is so much fun. Maybe it's in the gathering of photos we like, putting them together, and then seeing how neat they look. Kind of like dressing them up a bit? I know what you mean though.

  22. Hello Carolyn
White is not a colour I use for decor very often and rarely buy white flowers. But, after viewing this post I think I could like white.
And, I really like that bird house too. :-)
We have milder temps here today....and sunshine!

  23. You should publish some of your collages in a "coffee table" book.

  25. Hi Carolyn, I love your whites. I'm a fan of birdhouses as well. That terrarium is quite impressive. I Planted three bulbs about a month ago. I kept them in darkness, watered them weekly and now brought them out. My Hy's are blooming. It only costs me the bulbs.
