I thought I would share a few photos with you of some simple beauty.
This pretty dish belonged to my Mom and for years it sat on a tea tray on her cupboard with tea spoons in it.
Now it has some pretty blooms from a geranium that sat neglected in our basement since last fall and still managed to have a few blossoms on it.
I am going to have to take some cuttings off this geranium as I love the different shades of color in the petals.
I am playing again!
I enjoyed creating this little bit of simple beauty and thank you for sharing it with me!
It is a snow day here with schools etc. shut down but it is a great day to strip wallpaper.
Hope you have a happy day,
Carolyn
Beautiful colors together! Yes, simple beauty and I love the look.

That geranium is gorgeous. I collect glassware, so I think that piece is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteLovely colors both on the dish and the flowers. Have never seen this geranium before.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have so many lovely cups and other things. You must live in a big house to have place for it all, lol.
Hope you have a nice day.
Love Elzie
ooo--have fun with that wallpaper. Glad you stopped to share the simple beauty. The aqua glass and pink geranium together are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful indeed! The Geranium is so lovely with its various shades of pastel pink.
ReplyDeleteSimple beauty, I'd say so, Caroline. Lovely post, as always. Added some peace to yet another snow day in Indiana. Thanks

Hi Carolyn, the colors are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, sweet !!!!
ReplyDeleteI just had to come back over and tell you that your comment that "you went all out" for Valentine's day made me laugh. And here I am thinking I had been all slack this year having a 5 year old. You should have seen what I DIDN'T put out! :o)
ReplyDeleteOops! Make that a 5 month old!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so lovely. They remind me of Victoria Magazine, which I eagerly await every other month. You and I must be kindred spirits as Anne Shirley said.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty dish - such a nice blue color. Your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSchool is out here too and my two grandsons are home. I've really been missing my morning trip to the gym, but at least I'm not stripping wallpaper. ;-)
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI simply love the colors! Your mothers glassware is beautiful.
I have to tell you something. Today, at our second-hand shop, I found some red and white english transferware and I immediately thought of you! They would look great on your shelves :)
I don´t know what you would call this set. To me it looked like a wider cup with small handles on each side standing on a plate. I´m thinking maybe for soup(?)
There were six of them in perfect condition, no chips or marks, for a very reasonable price. I did not buy them however. It was hard to resist! Unfortunately I don´t have room for them and they wouldn´t come to use in my home. Oh I wish I had taken a picture...
I just had to tell you!
Thank you,
Sanna
Oh! so very lovely. the pink is perfect with that shade of blue... which happens to be my fave.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gwen
That geranium does have beautiful colors running through the blooms. You must have a very green thumb if it was in the basement. The simple things in life I find are always the sweetest and most beautiful.
