Hello everyone,
Yesterday I mentioned that I have been working on some projects around the house. Today I am sharing some photos of one of the projects. I have been wanting to give our bathroom a bit of a makeover for awhile so this week I finally got started.
I painted all the woodwork and trim and the shelf above.
Love my candles
add some fresh flowers
We have an old iron claw foot tub
angels
I painted the tub too.
I made a skirt to go around the old sink. The previous one was flowered-I couldn't find a photo of it.
This is the before photo no major changes but I am really happy with the new lighter look for very little cost.
Now for the beyond-we have returned to winter here.Several inches of snow came down in the last 18 hours and I think the winds are picking up. I do like the cleaner look of snow but does this mean I am done" spring' cleaning for awhile.
I have a few other projects to share later and tomorrow is Pink Saturday and I am joining in. Now, I better go and visit with my Mom before the wind plays havoc with the snow!
Oh my God!!! This is a marvelous transformation. You inspire me, some pretty white details.

Yummm! That creamy vanilla white. I'm trying figure out how I can do this in one of my bathrooms. Great for the clean and calm look. The green plant is perfect!

It looks beautiful & so full of old-fashioned charm!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I like the lighter look you've created better than the "before" pics. Really pretty! I love the heritage look of the claw foot tubs and your BR is terrific.

Oh Carolyn. Very nice! Like the lighter colors so much better. You have such a wonderful touch. Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love the new look. I am hoping that when we redo our bathroom that we can find a claw tub. That will be a few years yet.

The new white look is beautiful. Since I love white, I think it is nicer this way. Love the small lamp with crystals on the sink. I have the same cherub soaps. I just love them, don't you?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lynn
Wow... what a transformation! I love the romance the white provides. That is alot of snow my friend. Right now, we're just back to cloudy skies...started the month this way, guess we'll end it this way. However, those north and south of us are being dumped on y lot's of ice... I love your snow photos...hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning now. I love the white creaminess of it all. So romantic and fresh.
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing, what a difference you wrought with just a few "simple" changes -- although those simple changes are very important ones. Love the new, romantic look -- very Edwardian looking, very dreamy and feminine.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Good job. If you run out of things to paint, we have guest rooms....
and brushes.

This is beautiful! It is so pretty either way, but the white gives it a very peaceful feeling.
ReplyDeleteI really like the lighter look, too! It's lovely. ::Jill
ReplyDeleteoh my god!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyour badroom is so beautiful...;O))
Have a nice w-end

Both look great the before and after. I do love the new look - so clean and fresh. I love all your special touches and the attention to detail. The only that that makes me nervous is the lamp so close to the water at the sink (unless it's a candle inside). I would be so afraid someone would bump it while washing their hands and zap. Maybe you just added it to get extra light for the picture. Either way it all looks so so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet lady...
ReplyDeleteOhh my...you have been a busy little bee with all of your projects! My friend, your bath turned out fabulous! I do declare that it is one of the prettiest baths that I've ever seen...I just love the olden sink and claw foot tub! The paint color that you chose for the trim, etc. is beautiful! I love how you painted outer surround of the tub to match...gorgeous! Love your new sink curtain...ohhh, and all that pretty lace in that room! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, Carolyn!
Looks like you DO have winter at your place again! Hehe! It really is gorgeous...all that snow! Ohhh, and thank you for sharing your photos of your little fox! I had read the post where you talked about him...was hoping that you would share the photos! Isn't he just darling? They really are beautiful creatures!!!
Warmest winter wishes,

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom makeover turned out so lovely. It was pretty before, but I really do love this look! Every detail has made it special. I adore all creamy whites.
You did get more Winter, didn't you?! We have been so warm here this past week, that the snow has been melting fast. We are expected to have cooler temps this week. So goodbye to the high 30's.

ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Love your lace trimmed towels. :-)
