Hello everyone,
Today, I was playing with photoshop for awhile adding a softer look to some of my photos. This old cupboard is up in our sunroom.
The dishes in here are mostly odds and ends of vintage china.
The photo above is one I took a couple of years ago and the one below has been given a softer vintage look in photoshop and I am not sure which I like the best. What is your opinion?
Thank you for visiting me.I am joining French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.
Take care,
Carolyn

Your styling and china collection is amazing. Just when I think you couldn't possibly take a more beautiful photograph than the last you always do!! I wish you would sell prints! So soft, dreamy and romantic! You should just start your very own e-magazine!!!!
Carolyn all those mismatched dishes look just gorgeous in your cupboard!! Your pictures are always over the top beautiful and the softening of them just makes them better which how can that possibly be!??
I love your china. Your blog is a favorite of mine. It always looks so serene. Great photos!!
All your pink and white vintage dishes look so pretty in the white cabinet. Both photos of the ballet shoes and flower are delightful. Hard to choose a favorite.

O how I love all your vintage China. About the last photos, I definately like the 'real' picture best, the not photoshop-vintage-added one.
Bye,
Marian
You have such a beautiful collection, Carolyn! I love all the whites and pinks. I always think I'd like to try and play around with the photo editing softwares I have, but the day always gets away from me. I love the softer look, although the original photo is just as pretty.
I agree, I would buy your prints in a hot second, Carolyn.
Your china cupboard is TO DUE FOR - oh my gosh how exquisite and that china is SO BEAUTIFUL - my fav is the soft sweet old romantic pinks. Oh wow, how lovely!!!!
In my opinion, I like your older photo, the soft feature doesn't improve it. Just my opinion. At least not for that example - the inner part of the flower is gorgeous and it "goes away." The clarity is important on that one.
Anyway, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
Thank you again!!!!
I love your style. Your dish cabinet is so full of treasures and you have them beautifully displayed. As for the photo, I like the flower and lace in the first photo, but I like the ballet slipper in the second photo much better. I love playing with Photoshop, but I find it intimidating to work with sometimes.
Your dishes are gorgeous! What a wonderful collection. And your photos are really beautiful.
Wow! Such gorgeous vignettes. I came by after you left such a lovely comment on our blog about the Valentine table and I was blown away by the lovely cupboard post. I love your antique dishes. I love old things and these are both old and pretty - my favorite combination!
Thanks for sharing. Btw, we are your latest followers.

Oh my, your collection is simply beautiful! I love it. And the way you have them displayed is just gorgeous! Thank you for posting your pics. In answer to your question, I think I like the photoshop pic, you did a wonderful job.

Very beautiful...
Carolyn, thank you for the quiet peaceful refuge! I love coming here to your blog and feeling the peace and tranquility!!! I had a stressful episode this morning and I needed to seek some quietness and some beauty!
I loved the soft music playing here on your blog as I enjoyed seeing your pretty dishes in your cupboard.
I have several of the same pieces. Isn't it fun to have a collection of pretty things? I call them "life's little treasures!"
I have found so many little treasures over the years as my husband and I have gone antiquing. I have prayed many times and said..."Lord, help me to find the little treasure that is hidden here for me to find!" And always I would be delighted to find something that would lift my spirit and speak to my heart!
It was usually just something small...but over time they were added to the cabinets and they have brought me much enjoyment, as I remember each trip with my husband. Time together! Precious Moments!
How many years have you been collecting Carolyn?
Carolyn, I'm curious too- how many years have you been collecting china? Your collection is amazing!
xo
P.S I prefer the shot coming straight out of the camera :)
Oh, how delightful!
... absolutely beautiful :)
Greetings from Australia♥
Your photos are so very lovely Carolyn!

Oh how lovely!!! I'm a new follower and found you via My Romantic Home. I started collecting china in my late 20's, when I became a mother and homemaker. Like you, I love the thrill of going to see what treasure I will find. I have many sets with roses but my biggest collection is blue willow and flow blue pieces. I'm looking forward to browsing through your other pics for inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing. Hope you'll stop buy and visit!

Your china collection is beautiful! I love how you have your collection displayed in a white cupboard with lovely linens.
I know that every time I pass my cupboard with my odds and ends vintage pieces it brings a smile to my heart. And every time I visit your lovely blog each post brings a smile to my face. Beautiful!
I happen to like the original photo the best but the soft photo is also charming.
Hi Carolyn,
I have liked looking at your photoshop play...
With myself I love the soft look, but when I come to your blog, your colors amaze me, vivid, clean and so true... so I love both!
See I am no help! Haha:-)
Hugs,
Bella
Absolutely beautiful~ what a wonderful gorgeous inspiring post! I love both photos but I think the first one shows the details of the flower so much - love it.Thanks for linking up! :)
What a gorgeous collection! I love the way you have displayed them together. It is absolutely perfect! What lovely photos :)

Charming is the word that comes to mind when I look at your lovely collection. Kathi
Gorgeous cupboard!!
I LOVE your dish dresser with all the pretty pink and white china. I am wondering how you stand your plates in layers and get them to stay there. My china cupboard has a groove for one plate only and not much room to layer. Is there a trick I can use? Thanks Carolyn. Pamela
Ciao Carolin...io amo questa esposizione di tazze...molto bella anche la foto con le scarpine....preferisco la foto originale, comunque sempre graziose!

I love your odds and ends of china, Carolyn – they go together beautifully. And I'm very pleased to see that you're playing around with Photoshop. Watch out, you'll get addicted! Hope your Sunday is wonderful. – g
Hey, Carolyn!
I'm comin' back to live in your cupboard! I promise you won't even know I'm there... except for when you reach in to get a cup or a teapot, I'll just hand it to you! Speaking of handing it to you, I wish I could paint artistically! What a beautifully inviting subject to paint!
Hugs,

Love all your beautiful dishes - the pinks are so soft. Although both pics are pretty, I prefer the second one.
