Come for Dinner!

Hello everyone.
On Thursday of  last week we had a potluck dinner at our home for 27 people and I enjoyed setting up the tables again for everyone.
I used our cream dishes on one of the  tables for a change from the red transferware that we used on Christmas Day.
We had candles lit on the tables.

With 27 we had to have a small 4th table for 4 in the baywindow as you can see in the background. We had a small children's table for the little ones.

I used our Friendly Village china on this table as I think it is so pretty at Christmas.

The Friendly Village china mostly came from a yardsale with a few other pieces collected here and there.

Our tree is gone now and it still looks a little bare to me but as someone said there is always next year!

And a good time was had by all!!!

Today I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Thank you for your visit and for all your good wishes for the New Year in the past week. Welcome also to my new followers-I am happy to have you!

Take care,
Carolyn

Just lovely, Carolyn! It's amazing to me that you get four tables to work in your space and work well, too! The Friendly Village dishes are very pretty and they look great in your hutch. I still have Christmas to take down {need new bins} but I'm looking forward to getting back to my regular everyday decor!

Hi Carolyn,
What a wonderful dinner you hosted. I especially like the Friendly Village dishes on the table with your varnished chairs. How very lucky you found them gently used!
Happy, happy New Year to you and your family.

Beautiful! Some of my friends were getting Friendly Village pattern when I got married, and I got JB's Old Mill, a similar pattern at least in the colors and style. I was going to say I know the era when you got those, but not if you got them at a garage sale! Good find! I even have seen them new in the stores over the years so it must just be a pattern that "stuck" and has been popular.

Hi Carolyn, your pot luck dinner party looks gorgeous! I'm sure everyone had a lovely time. I still have the tree up until the 'children' return home to Alberta, so next week it'll come down. Blessings, Pamela

Everything looks so lovely. I am not sure which dishes I like best. The cream ones are so pretty, but the others are perfect for this time of the year.

I think I shall choose the cream ones.

Hi Carolyn,

Oh it´s beautiful, the Friendly Village china. May we perhaps have a closer look some day? What a nice surprise to see you skating on the pond! What a treat for you and your family. Bonfires and marshmallows... Mmm!

Weather here is very peculiar. Pouring down one minute - then, a thin dust of snow the other...

Have a great day,
Sanna

Your tables are so pretty. You pay attention to every little detail. I love the tiny pinecones on the cream teacup. Who would have thought that could look so lovely?!
