The Reading Nook

Come on in and curl up with a book for awhile in our little reading nook. Some of you may remember that last year we removed a couple of closets in our family room (used to be our bedroom) and built a cozy reading nook. It is also serves as extra seating when all our family come to visit.
On a winter's day it is lovely to enjoy a cup of tea  curled up in here. Some of you may wonder if all I do is sit around and drink tea! I did enjoy having six very lovely friends over for tea this afternoon but more on that later.

This bouquet fit the theme so I am showing it off  too.
I could bring you a tea tray to enjoy while you relax.
I have had these roses for a couple of weeks now and they are still holding up pretty good.

There are storage drawers underneath for toys etc.

I love this Antoinette quilt that I covered the foam with.

Stay and read for as long as you like- maybe you will even doze off for awhile!

I am joining Cindy at My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday again .

Thank you for visiting me

 Have a great weekend,

Carolyn

Dearest Carolyn,

Quite a cozy nook. At first I thought you were talking about THE readin 'NOOK'... but that would not look as romantic. Would work very well for reading though!
Oh, when will winter be over and spring start finally. This is a very late spring for our area.

Lots of love,

Mariette

Hi Carolyn
I was thinking a nap myself in this cozy looking nook, so glad you suggested it.
Having tea there would be so nice, there's room for two to sit and chat.

swoon....my heart is going pitter patter seeing your lovely reading nook! I imagine myself all curled up with the softest of afghans reading Jane Austen!

I had one red rose that was given me at a friends funeral that I sang at and it lasted well over a month! Where I had it was quite cool as we don't keep all the house heated to keep costs down but I was amazed at how lovely it lasted!

Dear Carolyn, what a wonderful blog. I dare saying that this is a Green Gables-Dream come true we dreamt of as children growing up with the lovely stories by L.M. Montgomery. Though I am convinced that Prince Edward Island is so much more than just "Green Gables". Best wishes, Alexandra
