Country French Style

Hello everyone,
Our snow storm ended and today was a sunny day once again-just is case you wanted to know! Is it just an Island trait or does everyone like to talk about the weather?
Anyway, I decided to go with a little country French style for our lunch today. So, for a  change I set up our table in our little porch.

Although, I mainly collect red and white transferware dishes but I do have a pretty good collection of blue and white ones too.

I got the toile fabric at a thrift shop recently so I used it for our tablecloth. The shutters were a bi-fold door that we cut down and painted-I really like how they look in here with the lace panel.

I am using a mix of different patterns again-mainly because I collect dishes one or two at a time usually and here or there.

The garden statue in the corner came in from the garden for the winter along with the garden bench. The French style chair came from a junk store and it was recovered last year.

I love this French toile soy candle.

The mirror on the wall came from a local garden centre.

The soup tureen came from an auction sale.

Well, that is my little touch of a French country style tablescape- I hope you enjoyed it.
Hope you also have time to visit the other lovely tablescapes at Between Naps on the Porch.
Thank you for visiting ,

Carolyn

I think I will have to steal this idea for some small windows in my home to make them stand out more. Everything is lovely. I especially love the mirror. It is very unique. Oh my goodness I am in love with this room!!
Did you paint the cabinet and shutters yourself!? The cabinet is the exact color and finish that I have in my head for a piece I have in my home.

Carolyn, the room is beautiful and the tablesetting is perfection.

Enjoy hearing about your weather since we are so far apart. I am in southern USA and yesterday we reached the 70 degree mark. It was wonderful and inspired me to trim shurbs.

I also enjoy your music, especially the Irish Blessing.

Lovely as usual, dear Carolyn! I saw a picture in a magazine the other day that immediately made me thought of you and your lovely home... it was a corner with a similar angel statue and arrangements... your whole house is like a picture taken out of a magazine.... is always a pleasure coming here.

I could not leave without telling you how much I enjoyed your post. Your table is beyond lovely....such delicate shades of blue in a room fit for a princess. Your touches of the shutters, the fabric patterns, the mirror and the French chair all add a cozy, yet elegant, look and appeal......very inviting. You may want to consider leaving the garden bench and statue in the room this spring and summer. They add a unique touch, also.

You have such a great way of putting things together. I love the table setting..I would like to collect some blue transferware but haven't decided on a pattern. I also love the set up with the mirrors on the wall...it kind of feels like it's a spot to wash up at! I have a mirror that resembles one of the smaller cathedral styled ones that I need to find a spot for. Your creative mingling of items is always so intriguing to stare at! My fairy girl is out in the cold covered in snow!
