A Winter Tour

Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the photos I took in the last couple of weeks on little drives around the Island.
We have not had much sun in the past few months so I am happy to get out and enjoy it when it does shine so the above shots were taken on a drive to Rustico.

I love this property at Knox Dam and I have photographed it in all seasons.

These photos are also taken on the Rustico drive.

The collage above is photos of the Montague River on an overcast day .

I have spent hours going through my old pictures on the computer deleting all the not so good ones as I needed the space. The lesson I hope I have learned is to stop taking a hundred pictures of the same things, and maybe even delete them on a regular basis ( like everyone else) instead of waiting until the space is all gone. Oh! the life of a procrastinator!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by,

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn...

My friend, you truly live in one of the most beautiful and scenic areas! I just ooohed and aaahed my way through each of your photos...gorgeous, my friend! Carolyn, you are such a talented photographer! Well...you certainly are living right in the middle of a fabulous winter wonderland! Thank you so much for sharing your photos with us...it's always such a treat!

Ohhh boy, I hear you about trying to organize photos on the computer! I do the very same thing...take many, many shots of the same thing...always hoping to have a choice and hopefully get a great one! I have had to start deleting files and files of photos as well! I have tried to get many of them over to photobucket...it's nice to have them safe at an online site as well! Well dear friend, I wish you the best with all of your organizing and thank you again for sharing your awesome photos with us!

Warmest winter wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

I love all of your photos...especially the ones by the water as I grew up living on a small lake and it was so pretty in winter....just like your photos!

They are stunning photos. Don't feel bad about keeping all the not so good ones. I do it too and I don't have nearly as many nice ones as you do. At this time I simply don't have time to get rid of so so or bad photos but I will eventually get around to it. Just as I am getting around to sorting out everything else in my home. You really have an eye for elegance and beauty.

Hi Carolyn...Your photos are National Geographic material again. Loved them.

Isn't it amazing about photos? I had to pay some money because I had used up all the space alloted to me! ha! It's so easy with digital photography to snap, snap, snap. And I HATE eliminating photos, don't you? ha! But we have to.

Take care, Carolyn. Susan

Dearest Carolyn,

Prince Edward Island is a beautiful island with such picturesque areas for lovely images, like yours!
Both of us still regret that our consulting trip to Prince Edward Island was canceled last minute so we never got to go... How did all of us enjoy the movie: Ann of Green Gables. Well, you live it every season, every day and your climate is heaven for the best crop of flowers!
So, what did we learn today? That you live in a kind of paradise; most of the time!

Have a great Sunday!

The Island is so beautiful in the Winter and Summer!
I download my photographs from my PC to a memory stick so that I still have them if I need them again but I have more space on my PC and it is usually quicker. I have three or four memory sticks, I also have a digital photo frame and I often plug in a MS and watch the photographs that way!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a good week. Keep safe and warm,Jackie in Surrey, UK.

I think you (and me) may be members of a very big club that takes hundreds of pics and forget to delete.
Beautiful photos. The snow makes everything look so clean and bright. I particularly like the house that's a kind of duck-egg blue. xx

Dear Carolyn,

I believe I have the same problem. There must be hundreds of photo's on my computer!! Now and then I delete some, but not enough....

Your island looks just beautiful; the wide strecthes of land, the river, the churches and old houses. So different from the hustle and bustle of city life! Love the red brick house with the veranda. It looks very romantic!

Wish you a Happy sunday! We are of to our garden. It's not sunny, but dry and not too cold. A perfect day for doing some much needed work.

Lieve groet, Madelief

Hi Carolyn
I usually take a couple of photos of everything, likely a habit from the days of film. I delete, organize and back up on a regular basis. I've heard of too many people having their computers crash that lose all their photots.
Beautiful scenery from your province.

It's true that with digital cameras it's so easy to take multiple shots of the same scene, and hard to throw them away ... just in case. But your photos are so beautiful and you live in such a gorgeous area, I would have trouble tossing photos! Thanks for how your grace your readers' lives with such beauty!

What a picturesque landscape! I wish we had so much snow in Poland now. However, even if we did, I wouldn`t be able to take such beautiful pictures that I can admire here.

Hi Carolyn
Still winter wonderland at your home. Well, since two weeks one could think spring might come at my place... but I know it's not yet time for it and that weather can change very soon again.
Oh yes, I know, what your talking about when you mention organizing the photos. Every year I tell myself to be a better girl and deleting earlier what isn't needed... but it remains a good thought.
Take care and have a nice week.

Dear Carolyn,

Thank you for sharing these fabulous photos. I've always wanted to visit P.E.I..and I just love the style of these buildings. It's suits me perfectly!! I had fun taking a tour from home!!! Older buildings/homes have so much beauty and character.

I haven't run out of photo space, yet...but I need to come up with a better way to add subject tabs to my posts...so it's easier for people to find things!! Have a great week. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

I have a habit of taking repeat photos too -- you'd think I'd learn to move on, since the first shot is usually the best.

Do you have an external hard drive? Inexpensive and gives you acres of space. I have one that is 500 GB. In contrast, my '02 computer has 9 GB of space left on it, and that's because all of my pictures are on the external hard drive.

PEI is so beautiful and charming. Thank you for the lovely tour!

How amazingly beautiful ... and charming! Love the red buildings ... and all the lovely trees and snow!
It's pretty much the opposite here. I am going to have to drive for a while to get to my winter wonderland.

Beautiful post!

We don't get snow, just a lot of rain and yucky thick fog..
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth

What beautiful homes and landscapes Carolyn! The one that most captures my heart is the tiny cottage and its reflection in the river. You are a gifted photographer!
