Brown & White Transferware

Hello everyone,
Well, it is Show & Tell day again so I am sharing some of my brown and white transferware again.

This is my newest old soup tureen that my husband bought for me down in Maine as I kept drooling over it -even though my arms were full of some red and white dishes that I also had to have. They came from an antique mall that had a lot of good sales on-so who could resist?

It is old and it does have a crack in it but I still love it! Like wrinkles it just adds character.

Sorry I got carried away-too much of a good thing!

I played with my dishes again and did this little display on the table in out library.

I got this pretty plate at a local auction.

This covered dish came from Homesense.

How about a cup of tea in the little reading nook?
Yep! another old cracked bowl that I love.

While I am on the brown and white theme ,I thought I would throw in some toile too, from our guest room.

Well that is it for me today but at My Romantic Home there is lots a beauty to be seen. Thank you, Cindy for hosting again this week.

There is talk of a snowstorm for us this weekend so we shall see what is in store for us soon.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy your weekend,

Carolyn

Just beautiful, love transferware but there is not too much of it to find in the midwest.

Hello Carolyn...Bet you cherish your brown and white transferware. So attractive! Love that tassled lampshade, too. Just my style! I have a couple shades with tassles. Susan

HI Carolyn, Oh, that brown transferware is lovely :) :) I especially liked how displayed on that filet crochet piece on your library :) :) :) OH, there's a magazine here in the States called "Southern Lady". in the January/Febuary issue there's a picture of a yummy chocolate lava -type cake on the front cover. In any case, on the inside pages somewhere there are some lovely photos of brown transferware just like yours :) The square plate with the rounded edges is gorgeous. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Enjoyed this post with the transfers!
Like the browns so much.

I wish I could turn the clock back and buy a set of dishes that were brown transferware, but I was so young and didn't know what they were!
Perhaps the future will present some to me to buy and enjoy...so I just put my order in.

God bless,
d

So many beautiful pieces of transferware! There is lots of it in the antique stores here, but it's pricey. I love all of your sweet pictures of the tea parties and gardens.

Carolyn, As always, I have so enjoyed visiting your beautiful, beautiful blog. I'm in heaven every time I come here. Your aesthetic transferware pieces are wonderful. I have a platter like yours.
The dancing girl sugar bowl is so beautiful tucked with the lace and hydrangea. You have such an eye for design and beauty.

Hello dear, beautiful in brown!. Actually your photos and the way showing us her beautiful pieces, enjoy it as much as we observe. I understand when he says he fell in love with them as they are exquisite. I had several pieces of more modern pieces that you show us and by accident I just have a dish of coffee and two mugs, or pitcher, which I cherish very much, because the brown is beautiful, thanks for sharing your precious treasures! So beautiful. But now that I've seen some of your posts I have to wonder where do you keep everything? I have a small condo with barely enough room for every day plates.

Beautiful brown transferware Carolyn. I need to put that on my list of things to look for, when Spring arrives and we begin our antiquing day trips.

Happy Weekend!

I love your brown transferware! I have some pink but I'm thinking that I am going to have to find some brown also!
My husband and I visited Prince Edward Island on our 25th wedding anniversary a "few" years ago (we will celebrate our 40th this year) and fell in love with it. I hope someday we can vist again. Linda
