Show & Tell Friday

Hello everyone,

We are having some lovely weather here again lately so we were able to enjoy a walk on the beach today-it was a great way to end the month of September!

Today,I am joining Show & Tell Friday so I am sharing a little mix of green and white toile.

This is a small bedroom upstairs that over the years went from a toddlers room to a teenagers but is now a guest room.

A pretty little jug- a gift from a friend.

I love this mug.

Well that is it for today but I have been working on a project and I will show you what I have been up to next week.

Thank you Cindy for hosting Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home each week.
I am also joining Debra at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday. This is a new party for me but it looks very inspirational!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Black and White Toile Tablescape

Hello everyone!
I am glad you came to visit as I have a lunch all ready for you .Since it is a warm sunny afternoon I have set a table for you in our little garden cottage. The doors are open so we can enjoy the garden from here.
I hope you like toile!
A little bouquet of phlox and roses looks romantic on the table.
I know many of you have seen this teapot from Winner's before but isn't it pretty? There is no marking on the bottom but I am pretty sure the box said made in England.
The chargers came from the Christmas Tree shop.
I hope I am not boring you with all these photos but you probably know by now I love to take pictures.
I closed the doors as a breeze picked up. These chairs were a thrift find that I painted and covered the seats with toile. I made the tablecloth with toile fabric from Walmart.
Well, you wait here while I go get your lunch-I will just be a minute, it is already for you I promise!

Today I am joining Susan again for the ever popular Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

Thank you for visiting

&

Enjoy your day!

Carolyn

The Garden in Autumn

Hello! I am glad you stopped by so I can take you on a little tour of the garden to see what is going on. Warmer weather has returned - 23 degrees Celsius and humid today.

The garden is really taking on the colors of Autumn.

We have several euonymus alatus or burning bushes in the garden and I love the color they turn in early Autumn.

The virginia creeper over the arbor is starting to turn a wine color as well.

Still some roses blooming- this one is new this year, Julia Child.

This is a bellflower-no sure which one. It is a spreader-but pretty. It blooms earlier but is putting out a few new blooms for us to enjoy.

The elder add some nice yellow color to the garden and the birds love the berries.

The sweet autumn clematis is blooming now.

I love how this daylily always graces us with some fall blooms even though it bloomed heavily a few weeks ago.

The roses give me so much pleasure.

The wine red rose is Dark Lady and I love the form, color and perfume. It is a David Austen rose.

Happy Returns daylily gives some repeat bloom late in the season also.

Our water fountain in the centre of the picket fence garden.

As you can see from our little tour the colors of the garden have changed but still give me a lot of pleasure as I stroll through the garden each day or tend to it.

A Fall collage- the pictures are mine but not the sheep , although I think sheep grazing in our field would be a nice added touch!

Thank you for coming on a stroll through the Autumn garden with me.

Thank you also to all who follow my blog both old and new and to all who have left such kind words.

Have a good day!

Carolyn

Tea in the Garden

Hello everyone!
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny warm day so it was a good day to have tea in the garden.I want to enjoy my outdoor teas as long as I can ! the garden is taking on its's fall colors. You can see the virginia creeper on the back wall is turning rusty red.
But our little tea is still more of a pretty in pink theme so I am using my chintz tea set today.
I made some sticky date cake for today.
I bought this set a few years ago-it has 6 cups and saucers ,a creamer and sugar bowl and of course a teapot.
We still have roses blooming and although we had frost it wasn't a killing frost so the garden is still fine.

I love chintz as well as tranferware dishes.
As many of you know I am a big fan of the Victoria magazine and i love their books as well so this book is well loved! I often look to Victoria for inspiration as I know many of you do as well.
So sit down and enjoy a cup of tea with me on this beautiful Autumn day in the garden and after we can enjoy a stroll through the garden as it is taking on it's Autumn glory.
Today I am joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for her lovely Tea Time Tuesday and also Kathy at A Delightsome Life for her Victoria-A Return to Loveliness party.
Thank you for visiting me,
Carolyn
