A Year in Review and Happy New Year!

First I would like to wish you all Happy New Year and many blessings throughout the year! And now I would like to enter in a Year in Review at Cindy's Romantic Home.

First , we had lots of pretty days in winter to get out and enjoy the beauty and a little fresh air.

We enjoyed spending time with our little grandchildren.

We were blessed with a new little granddaughter Lila in February. It has been fun watching her grow!

I always look forward to the arrival of spring in our garden.

Our little garden cottage is ready for summer.

I enjoyed going to the beach. Did I mention that Prince Edward Island has beautiful beaches.

I love china ,so I can't resist sharing photos of it.

I did say I love a good cup of tea-didn't I?

So many places to relax in the garden.

You can click on to enlarge any of my photos-if you wish.

Love to watch the sunsets.

And before we know it -it is Christmas again! Yhew! a year goes by so quickly doesn't it?

Thank you so much for visiting me and a big hug to all of you who have left me such lovely comments this past year. I have enjoyed getting to know people from all over the world-amazing isn't it? I love all the beauty and inspiration I have found on your blogs.

Now, speaking of beauty and inspiration go and visit Cindy at My Romantic Home and see her beautiful Year in Review and the many other participants too!

Best Wishes to you and yours,

Carolyn

The Joy of Family !

Hello again,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season. Can you believe another year has slipped away?

We had a wonderful time with our family gathered around for a few different events this Christmas season. I have always enjoyed having a big family but never more then at Christmas time. Although the days of excited little voices in the early hours of Christmas morning are gone(too quickly) I still love to have our now grown children arrive some with little ones in tow for fun, food and laughter! With seven children, five children in laws and nine grandchildren -we can make this old house rock!

some new Christmas china from my sweet husband.

My oldest daughter gave me this pretty lamp for Christmas

We had a green Christmas this year -unless you count a fine dusting of white powder but last night we had a storm roll in giving us some high winds and colder temperatures with some snow..

I am hoping that you too experienced the joy of family or loved ones this holiday season!

Christmas Blessings Everyone!

I know you are all busy but I hope you will have time for a light Christmas Eve day meal.

You know how I love my transferware dishes. I have been collecting the for awhile and usually just a piece here and there.

and my new thrift store tablecloth too.

You can see some other red and white tranferware in the cupboard behind the table.

I was busy today baking biscuits, rolls, cheese bread, golden party loaves, and sticky date pudding-I am sure you are all busy too.

Christmas plates

I love this Spode Christmas plate

I thought I might as well show some of my village houses today too(below).

We went to an early family church service with some of our children and then a nice visit with my Mom. Now,we are off to one of my daughter's for a family drop in time where there are some pretty excited little ones.

I am joining in with Cindy at her always beautiful My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.

Now, I would like to take a minute to wish all of you a wonderful Christmas and many Blessings for the New Year.

Peace,Joy, Love and Health

A Winter Solstice Dinner

In honor of Winter Solstice I am having a romantic fireside dinner if you would like to join me. I love winter solstice as the days are starting to get longer again. This evening we can have dinner just the two of us by the fireside. Come in and have a comfy seat by the fire.

I have a lot of pictures so I won't waste time with words as I know you are busy.

The dishes we are using tonight are Friendly Village. I have been picking up a few pieces here and there. This 3 tierd plate was a lovely Christmas gift from my friend Heather.

Have a glass of sparkling cider

This is where I keep my Friendly Village and similar china.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care

Well,I hope you enjoyed the evening and I will back for once more before Christmas and then I will take a little break for the holidays.

Take care,
Carolyn
