Lilac and Tea in the Garden

Hello everyone,

It is a hot summer day here and
the garden is in full swing.

I am enjoying all the beautiful
lilacs blooming now so I decided
it was time for a tea in the garden.

I love the fragrance of all the lilacs
in the garden so this is a lovely
spot to enjoy their beauty.

The Spode teacups look so
pretty with the lilacs.

We have many different varieties of
lilacs in our garden but these beauties
are the common lilac that came from
my husbands grandmothers farm many
years ago and they are my best bloomers.

The antique vase was a gift from a
friend.

A pretty bouquet by the pond.

I have lots more photos that I
took of my lilacs and hope to share
        soon.
This is such a beautiful time of
the year and I would love to be
able to capture the beauty to
enjoy all year long.

Hope you are enjoying your week!

Take care

Carolyn

  1. Hi Carolyn,
Your Lilacs are outstanding. You inspired me to plant them in my garden.
Our weather was hot for a couple of weeks, but today it cooled down. As long as I keep the water going and the soil wet, everything loves to bloom.
Thank you for sharing your amazing garden.
    Fondly,
    Betty

  2. Our lilacs bloom in late March or early April, so it’s lovely to see them in bloom there on PEI. Lovely tea set up as well.

  3. Dear Carolyn,
Lovely Tea! Love the colors and the atmosphere. You have such a great touch when it comes to sitting up a event. This is lovely. I so wish I could just pop in and see your gardens in person.
    Blessings,

  5. Dearest Carolyn,
Wow, of all the things that I miss so much over the 38 years away from The Netherlands, its the Lilacs...
Over a decade ago we had the Syringa 'Krasavitsa Moskvy' and I have but two photos with its first blossoms. We lost it however due to the heat and often drought in summer...https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-i-miss-our-syringa-krasavitsa.html
Enjoy yours and also for me!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  8. Hi Lisa
Thank you for your compliment on the garden. We have been enjoying many hours working in it this spring.
The Spode teacups are "Camilla" Copeland England.....they are very pretty!

Thanks everyone for your visit and kind words.

  9. Your lilacs and outdoor teascape is beautiful, Carolyn. I am so happy they are blooming so well. Ours bloomed a few weeks ago but just weren't a great blooming due to that odd snow storm we had just as our lilacs were budding.

I could've wept when it snowed - it did hurt a good deal of growth.

We had enough blooms (just smaller and less) and they lasted a nice long while. They smelled heavenly! Lilacs - one of nature's very best scented air!!! I have three areas with huge bushes. When in bloom and nice enough to open the windows............ahhhhh.....what a blessing.

Thanks for your lovely post. I'd have loved to have joined you for tea. ♥
