Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a few final autumn
garden shots before moving on to a
different season.
I took this shot of our home last
week as we drove in our driveway
I was struck by the beautiful autumn
light on the last of the fall colors.
Hydrangeas look beautiful
even in October.
The beautiful deep pink ones
are strawberry vanilla and
the softer ones are limelight.
A pumpkin in the urn with
Euonymus Alutus or burning
bush puts on a great show in autumn.
Lots of yellows and rusts in
our garden now.
I love this birdhouse that I found for a few
dollars at a local thrift store. It was
already painted for me!
Another burning bush.
Late blooming monkshood.
Another shot of our home with
fall color.
It is mild but very windy here
today so I think many of the leaves
will have fallen by morning and
the garden will be bare until the
snow arrives.
Thank you for visiting.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the beautiful shots of Autumn on your island. I have been watching your weather and surprised by the low temperatures you have not had any snow. I am waiting for your beautiful snow photos and the Christmas decorations you have this year. I am starting to bring a few things out of storage and arranging the mantel. Thanks again for adding joy to my life with your beautiful styling and beautiful photography.

Beautiful colors in your autumn garden. Hope that the wind does not carry everything away.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Your beautiful pergola is bare of flowers. Do you take them down to paint the wood or prune back in autumn? I ask because I was inspired by your pergola years ago and installed one in my garden. Mine is covered with climbers which I don't take down. xx
ReplyDeleteI love your wonderful fotos of your house and garden and I love the autumn garden too. Enjoy every day in this beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteTake care

The garden is still beautiful and when the frost comes, it will be magical.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your sweet comments.
ReplyDeleteAndi, usually I leave the vines to totally cover the pergola but they were becoming too rampant so I whacked them back in the spring and they were slower to recover then I thought.
we do need to give it a fresh coat of stain but it will have to wait until next year.
I love that you were inspired by ours to put one in your garden!
Have a great day!
Carolyn
Gorgeous fall colors and your home fits in beautifully! I'm looking forward to your Christmas decor. It's always such a treat to see how you arrange things! Happy Fall from Cape Cod!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. I love that vanilla strawberry hydrangea, but I especially love the birdhouse. Are there any occupants?
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThere are no occupants yet but maybe in the spring.
Thank you for your visit.

Lovely colours and such a gorgeous garden ! .. I wish I had cut some of my hydrangea flowers before they turned brown .. they were such an intense pink, but life got too hectic.
ReplyDeletePinky Winky actually behaved like Vanilla Strawberry this year and was so beautiful .. I'm not sure if it is an aging process, weather, or what but wow when they are half intense pink and half creamy .. so pretty !
Love the pumpkins .. just sorry it is such a quick process in my mind ? for Autumn to come and go .. I was just getting into it ! LOL
Beautiful and vivid!!!! Wow......
ReplyDeleteBellissime fotografie, un giardino pieno di colori autunnali. È sempre una gioia vedere la sua casa e tutto ciò che la circonda. Buona serata🍁🍂🧡
