A White Kitchen/Dining Tea

         Hello everyone,

How is your weekend going?  Here
on the Island we enjoyed record braking
temperatures with sunshine and over 29 degrees
Celsius during the week but our warm spell
is past and it is a cool damp day here today.

The stores here have been super busy lately
as the Christmas rush seems to have started
early.

We currently have 3 cases of covid 19
on the Island and I am thankful that so
far we have been able to keep our numbers down.
However, many provinces out side of our Atlantic
bubble are seeing  scary rises in the number of
active cases as has much of the rest of the world.
Hope and pray for a safe vaccine soon .

I took this shot of our dining area
a couple of weeks ago before I
                                                       started adding some Christmas touches.

A touch of Christmas for my tea time
today.

A small teapot for one or two.

You can see out the window that it still
has a fall look......no snow yet.

I  gave this corner a touch of
Christmas but I confess I have
put most of our Christmas decor
up except for the two big trees
which will probably not go up
until early December......unless
the mood strikes earlier. Right
now I am enjoying the cosyness
of the small trees and garlands
with their white lights. I will share
some new photos soon.
So what about you are you decorating
yet?

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend
and thank you for visiting me!

Stay well,

Carolyn

  1. Hi Carolyn,
I started to decorate the kitchen~dining room. I have a small tree I place in my dining room.It is decorated with fake popcorn garland and mini nutcrackers. I decorated the living room mantel and coffee table and it is so cozy in the evening.
Our weather is still mild also here in California. Also our numbers are going up with the Covid and flu season. I am so blessed to have my family safe from Covid so far.
Thank you for posting your beautiful home for my enjoyment.
    Fondly
    Betty

  3. Your province and other Atlantic provinces were so wise not to open their borders.
The Covid is out of control here in Quebec. The Senior Homes are hard hit. Our Premier is thinking about closing the schools again. I am presently in the Eastern Townships, south of Montreal. We are in red zone. We cannot visit outside our region or have visitors in the home. Christmas will be very different. Cannot visit family. Lets hope a vaccine is found soon.
No Christmas decorations is allowed in Senior Homes, hospital or medical centres. At least we are safe in our homes.
I'm starting my decorations this weekend and will sew some masks and do some baking.
    Your home looks beautiful.
    Stay well. Thelma.

  4. Hi Thelma,
I am grateful that we have played it safe with our borders but look forward to the day when we can travel to your beautiful province again......love Quebec City at Christmas especially. So, sad when senior homes are hit hard.
Enjoy your decorating and baking and maybe even painting more beautiful paintings!
    Stay well,
    Carolyn

  5. Good Morning, Carolyn!

Everything is so lovely! And, yes, I have started my decorating! Lol I also decorated a couple of shop windows in our Downtown on Thursday night. The weather was so nice that night, we sat out on the street without our coats--today, we have sloppy snow! What a change!

Thinking of Thelma in Quebec & all the folks who are living with rapidly rising COVID vases & praying things will get better very soon. We are so thankful & blessed to be living here in Atlantic Canada. I miss Old QuebecCity at Christmastime & I hope we can meet up there again one day soon! We have such cherished memories of our time there with you & Andrew. And, isn't it so very beautiful there during the holidays, especially! Stay safe, everyone!

We thought of you both last night while Midge & I were watching one of my favourite Christmas movies ( think it's one of yours, too)--The Holiday (Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslett, Jack Black & Eli Wallach--Eli was 90 years young in this 2006 film). I love watching it every year!

    Wishing you a beautiful day,
    Linda at Beautiful Ideas

  6. Hi Linda,
Funny, Andrew and I just watched The Holiday again as well. Looking forward to watching The Crown tonight.
We also have good memories of visiting with you and Midge in Quebec and also in Mahone Bay....yes, hopefully soon we can do that again.
    Take care,
    Carolyn

  7. What a perfectly lovely start to your beautiful Christmas decor, Carolyn.

Your white winter tea beckons me in a way that is impossible to explain.

Thank you for your inspiration. I just asked my hubs to start bringing up my holiday tubs. I told him whose fault it is. We once again discussed taking that cruise up your way and one day hoping to have enough time there to allow for us to see your gardens in person. These days hope is all we have, right?

Praying for a vaccine soon, too. Please stay safe and well. Hugs.

  9. Everything is beautiful as always...but I especially love the photo of the quilt-covered chair in front of the gorgeous bay window...your home is simply stunning. It's amazing to me that anyone's actual home looks like this! Mine is so small and cramped and messy. It's really uplifting to me to know that beautiful scenes like this do exist in the world!

    Hi Laura Jeanne,
Thank you for your kind words.
    Happy to have you visit!

  11. Oooo, I love that knit tea towel/scarf. What a great idea. And the candles. Can you believe that I signed a lease this year on a place that specified "no candles?" Now I have to decide if I can choke through a year with led fake candles, or if I'm going to surreptitiously violate the lease with an occasional tea candle in a jar...I suspect it will be the latter... Cozy winter blessings. Thank you that you still keep up this beautiful blog. I *needed* it this morning. Thank you.
