Hello everyone,
I hope your week is going well.
When I was going through my old
photos I came across these shots
that I took of the Boathouse last
fall after I made some new pillows
for the bed and changed the quilt
to the reversible side.
I used to sew a lot but
now it seems I only make
simple pillows.
The previous look or a least one
of them. I enjoy playing house in
here.....an old childhood pleasure.
A Christmas look.
For those of you who don't know what
our little Boathouse looks like I have
included an outdoor shot of it from last
fall.
Well, I have my sewing machine set up
so I going to make a few more pillows
while I work up the courage to try to
make a slipcover for a wing back chair.
If you never see it here on the blog you
will know it was a total flop!
Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn
So charming and lovely. The pink is a wonderful "pop."
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely and I think the red Christmas one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteLooks really nice. Regards from Poland.
ReplyDeleteThe boathouse is darling. The slipcovers sound ambitious...wishing you well!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful space, I wish you would come decorate my bedroom!! it needs help. Obviously , you are very accomplished so I am sure your slip cover will be great. Look forward to seeing it. Happy Sewing as I always tell my customers. from Iowa
ReplyDeleteI like your blog - it's so amazing!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your slipcovers! You will do great. Just think of them as very big pillows, with lots of piping!
ReplyDeleteWarm wishes, Barbara
So nice and shabby Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteLovely day
Charlotte
My favourite is the Christmas bedroom. I'm sure those slip covers are going to be just charming. I look forward to seeing the finished projects.
ReplyDeleteI love the boathouse on every season. I love the red/white together. I have every confidence that the slip cover will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love your boathouse. So charming. I hope your slipcover for the wingback chair is a success. This is something I've been pondering for a wingback we have.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pops of pink in the first photos... and with that teal blue.. oh so pretty. I have the EXACT SAME FABRIC as in your photo with the red checked throw on the bed, and with the bed ruffle and the matching curtains. I just LOVE that fabric! Got it years ago and can't find anything like it now. I just pulled it out the other day to make a pretty pillow case for my bed.. but can't bear to use it up... so I went and scanned it into my computer so I can print it again on muslin and also make some scrapbook paper from it!
ReplyDeleteI mostly make pillows these days, and pillowcases. Wishing you the best on your slipcovers. I covered a big couch once, years ago, and it was alot of work and once it was done, I swore I'd never do another! But that was upholstering, not a slipcover. I bet you'll do just fine on yours!
Carolyn this is certainly every girls dream house young or old..er! sigh. have a glorious weekend.
ReplyDeletePięknie.uwielbiam oglądać twoje zdjęcia..

ReplyDeleteI too can't sew like I used to ..Spinal Surgery and it killed a load of nerves in my sewing arm .
But I do like to make simple pillows as well
Mainly from Thrift store fabric ...
Thanks for your constant inspiration
I LOVE to read and look at your blog
Happy Days to you
Janet

ReplyDeleteHi Caroline,
ReplyDeleteI was looking in Pinterest and found your marvellous blog.
I had a bog by myself but closed it after more than 10 years now.
I have only 3 grandchildren but I did not find any time for my blog.
So how do you manage it? Perhaps we are in the same age.
I am always very interested in people all around the world.
I love Canada and would like to live there.I would like to have so much money to have a house in all countries I like....:-))
Best wishes
Iris
