Welcome November
It is hard to believe it is November
already . The garden is almost all
cleaned up for winter, the leaves are
falling and I am planting my bulbs for
early spring color.
Veseys are having their bulb blowout
sale again so I stocked ~it seems I always
buy more then I intend too but hard to
resist at $2. a bag!
Anyway, after all that fun shopping it
was time for a cup of tea and a sweet
treat before starting to plant my bulbs.
our tea today.
I love to use my brown and white
transferware in autumn and winter.
I got the recipe for this cake here
but I took a short cut and made
the cake without the streudel and
glaze.
Tea time
Wishing you all sweet November
days!
Thank you for visiting me.

How gorgeous! I want your life! At our school farm we have been planting loads of bulbs, too. Narcissus, ranunculus, anemones and soon hundreds of tulips. I can never say no to a beautiful bulb.
ReplyDeleteLovely tea, Carolyn! Your cake looks wonderful and I love the teapot. Enjoy planting all your bulbs.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
What a wonderful setting for tea and cake. I'd love to share some with you. Yes, with November here the days are cooler and tea calls our name. I want to check out the recipe and see if I can make it gluten free.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Noreen

PS: Have fun planting your bulbs and making your garden lovely.
Beautiful transferware and delicious looking cake! Thank you for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself I had better get to planting bulbs - and not wait till it's too late. I wish I had your health, energy and stamina. I just can't find the energy. I may have to hire it out, haha. What a wimp I have turned into!
No WONDER your gardens are so incredible - you work SO HARD at them for three whole seasons!
Hugs. ♥
PS
ReplyDeleteIt's been so weird- mid 70s - so odd that my iris are blooming again = it's the THIRD time this year! Shocking! And my knocl-out roses never stopped.
When I was little it was more often snowing a lot by this time.
And today I was barefoot. TOO weird!
I love your inspirational blog. Your tea ideas are wonderful. Thanks for sharing the recipe link.
ReplyDeleteI love that the cups and teapot are painted brown! How unexpected!
