Afternoon Tea with Students

     Hello everyone,

I had some university students come for
afternoon tea today so as I was setting
the table I thought I should take
a few shots to share with you.

I decided to go with the cream and pink
                               rosebud theme....the Alpine white
                Ironstone from England.

The teapot is a Sadler also
                                                                           made in England.

I made a blueberry coffee cake
for us to enjoy with tea.

These lovely young ladies are a long way
from their home and two of them leave
                                                                 the Island shortly.
                                                                            Blueberry coffee cake.

Here is the recipe in case you
want to make it.
Cranberries are also good in this
recipe taken from the Comfort Food
 recipe book by Johanna Burkhard....
one of my favorites!

Well, it was a lovely afternoon tea time
and now I think I will sneak back out
for another piece of that coffee cake!

Enjoy the rest of your week,

                                                                                                       Carolyn

  1. What a lovely tea time with the girls! I'm sure they enjoyed themselves. Your Sadler teapot is really pretty and you chose your teacups perfectly to match. It was a nice sunny day to have them over. Enjoy your evening, Carolyn.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  3. That is so lovely that these young ladies enjoyed a special teatime with you. It is good to train young people in the 'art' of tea time. I'm sure they enjoyed it and will maybe take the tradition home with them. Your gardens must be starting to show some signs of spring now. I can't wait to see your photo of the blooms. Have a nice week.
