Hello everyone,
Another year is almost over and
I will soon be taking down all the Christmas
decorations.
I have taken down the tree in the
kitchen which is early for me but
I enjoy having tea with my husband
or a friend in this bay window area
and the tree while pretty blocked the
view so down it came. You can see
the before and after above.
I love seeing the snow laden trees
out the window.
Our Christmas tables
After removing the tree
it was time for tea.
This shot was taken today to record
our snowfall. I think everyone here
is happy with this amount but hoping we
don't get anywhere near as much as we
did in our record breaking winter last year!
I hope to have one more post
before the New Year.
Take care,
Carolyn
Dear Carolyn:
ReplyDeleteYes, I shall never forget that photo with the snow pushed back on each side of that road. It was telephone pole high. A lovely last Christmasy glimpse of your window here!
I am always so sad to see Christmas go = we keep ours up until Epiphany, when the 3 Wise Men finally got to meet Jesus.
ReplyDeleteYour tree - and your little tea place by the windows is gorgeous. I adore your lighting that pretty little brown pinecone candle - perfect winter look with that gorgeous snow in the background.
I sure hope it snows here, I *adore* snowy winters!
Love the snow!
ReplyDeleteYour snow looks beautiful and I can imagine tea at that little window alcove would be so enjoyable. Seems people here are taking Christmas down earlier and earlier. I've been doing it slowly while we still enjoy the tree. Wishing you all the best in the new year!
ReplyDeleteAh, Carolyn this is the first day since early December I can indulge in visiting my favorite blog spaces..Now I'm wanting to tweek some of my white spaces. But I am getting ahead of myself since I have not yet gathered up all the company linens and made the guest bedrooms presentable-my choice, I asked the daughter and grands to leave it for me to do at leisure...
ReplyDeleteI am almost never ready to make it all disappear immediately after Christmas..I delay and delay the latest date on the calendar for tree removal I think was around Jan 15 last year. I do like being able to remove just one or two decorative items and exchanging with another simple uncomplicated piece and like magic it has moved into a new year, a new setting without a lot of work or thought even. thanks again for inspiring me..you always do.
That's such a pretty tea set. Your home looked so beautiful for Christmas, Carolyn. Here, in Ontario, it is a winter wonderland. But, like you, I hope that's it for awhile. "Happy New Year." Deb
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Carolyn, it's always beautiful and so relaxing. Thought I saw Andrew at The Village tonight, looked for you.Best to you in 2016
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful. Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteWe keep the halls decked until Old Christmas Day and I try hard to keep it up until my birthday but we'll see this year...
You have a lot of snow already! We are holding our breath here. I'm sure it will happen soon. We've had bitterly cold temps but still no snow.
Happy New Year to you and Andrew and everybody! XO

Hello there!
ReplyDeleteHow Lovely interiors! :) very cosy, stylish and beautiful!
Have a happy new year!
Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful pictures! We have been nothing but gray, rain and fog for over two weeks here in southeast PA-it's so depressing! I doubt we will see any type of snow any time soon! Enjoy your view!
ReplyDeleteA perfect spot for you to dream, read or drink a cup of tea while admiring the snowy landscape just outside your windows. I like the pine cone candle.
ReplyDeleteMay love, happiness, good health be yours throughout the New Year.
