Autumn is in full swing on the Island
right now. We have had frost a couple of
nights here so the garden is in it's faded
glory stage. However, there are still a few
plants putting on a show ~ fall asters etc.
Burning bushes turn brilliant red
in autumn.
The virginia creeper is still green
on this the north side of the house
but has turned red elsewhere in the garden.
Asters, monkshood and a bit
of late phlox adding color in
the garden today.
I love this aconitum carmichaelii
Arendsii or monkshood as it blooms
so vibrantly and late in the season.
Martha's Garden in autumn.
The virginia creeper on the
back fence has turned red.
A little birdhouse adds charm.

It is another beautiful autumn day here

Love the view from your pond, Carolyn. The monkshood is very pretty. I always meant to plant sedum but I never did. It is such a showy plant too. It is a beautiful day today and the leaves are starting to turn on our trees.

ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful!!! A lovely place to spend an autumn day just pottering! xx
ReplyDeleteso pretty, Carolyn. I love the monks hood too. the kids love it for its other name...wolfsbane which was in Harry Potter lol.
ReplyDeleteI've begun sitting down the plants. I want to bless myself this spring by getting what I can done now. but the wasps are everywhere! We found a huge hive so close to tge house after I was stung. saved 5 honeycomb - type things from it after hubby burned the log. ( I have cut logs in my gardens for seats) The wasps hallowed it out. very scary and it was in my violet valerie garden a few feet from the house.
if you or anyone know a way to keep them away I would love to hear it. They won't leave at all. 3
Must start the day and get Rilla ready for school.
have a beautiful day <3

Your garden is so beautiful no matter what the time of year. Thanks for sharing the beauty. My dream is to someday tour your garden in person.

ReplyDeletekind regards from Wilcza Gora Garden, Ewa
Your gardens look beautiful with the autumn colours and pops of summer colours among them. A pretty combination!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have such beauty at the end of the season. Soon the season will change and new blessings will abound.
