Blue & White Transferware Tureen

Hope you are staying warm on this
cold winter day!
It would be a good day for a pot
of hot soup but alas today my soup
tureen remains empty as it
sits on display.

I found this soup tureen in a thrift soup in
Maine a few weeks ago and it was love at
                                           first sight!
I love the ladle as well.

It goes nicely with the transferware platter
                                           that I already had.

I think I should make a pot of homemade soup now
and put my pretty new soup tureen to good use!

                                                  Thank you for visiting,

                                                                   Carolyn

  4. I would like to be the owner of these. Beautiful. I suppose many have seen that i like white and blue porcealaine, well in generally white and blue in the interior in our cabin in Lysefjorden by the pulpit rock.

  5. Lovely, Carolyn! You can always fill it with flowers or winter greens, apples, teeny pumpkins in the fall, maybe even a vignette at Christmastime! Who says a tureen should always be filled with soup? Lol Have a nice weekend.

  6. The only way a nice hot pot of soup could be any better in this frigid weather is if it was served in a beautiful tureen. Perfect!

The lovely pattern has me curious. It borders the tureen and ladle in a traditional way, but the floral sprigs and asymmetric design are suggesting the aesthetic movement. It is like the best of both worlds!
