Hello everyone,
All is calm here now as Arthur has moved
on and our garden came through it all pretty
good...thankfully!
Time to enjoy a cup of tea and a letter
from new American garden friends who
came for a visit before our busy season.
Nice to receive a beautiful handwritten
letter in the mail ~ thank you Pat,
and Bonnie for yours as well.

Just a short break for afternoon tea today.
I am joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage
for Tea Time Tuesday.
I hope you are enjoying your summer!
Take care,
Carolyn
ihre dekoration ist wunderschön, ich liebe die rosen, alles liebe von angie aus deutschland
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are lovely, Carolyn. Pretty teacup too. A handwritten note is very rare these days which is a shame. Makes one appreciate them even more. I'm glad to hear your gardens fared well through the storm. I was thinking about you while Arthur was here. We just had one bough break from a big pine tree. The tree holds memories however but that's not too bad considering all that other folks went through. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
I cannot believe the perfection of color of those peonies, some kind of pale antiqued pink....such beautiful flowers, one day I will have some too....your teacup is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cup and flowers Carolyn. Glad to hear you made it through the storm well. Sherry
ReplyDeleteGlad that the hurricane was not damaging to your gardens or your home.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely cup - reminds me of a Royal Albert one I have only your color is deeper and mine has no inside flowers.
I have been trying to get back to writing an actual letter again. I love to receive letters, though they are infrequent and thought that if I like it, so would my friends. Now to do it!
Have a lovely day.
Deanna
Pretty soft coloured peonies, so feminine and elegant. A hand written letter or note really is a pleasure to receive.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous peonies and how sweet to receive a hand written letter, beautiful teacup...
ReplyDeleteSmiles~

I am new to visit your blog and found this post so pretty. Can you tell me what the pattern is for your tea cup? I have many pink roses cups but only one white Bavarian cup with lavender flowers. I am decorating a guest bedroom in shades of lilacs, lavender, and violets, wisteria too. Hope to display a few tea cups and china plates on the wall and on the amoire and tables. Thank you! And I hope to travel in your blog to a place I have wanted to see since I read Ann of Green Gables so many years ago!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to get a hand written letter on pretty paper, an to take time to read it leisurely over a cup of tea. It reminds me of a scene from Emma when they really looked over the handwriting in a letter and gained insights into the writer.
ReplyDeleteGetting a piece of "snail mail" now is like getting a little present! Lovely cup and saucer and it looks so pretty with the note and your beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn dear, your photos are so beautiful!!! I am so happy to hear that your lovely peonies make it through the storm okay and that we are able to see these beauties! I don't know of anyone that has prettier china than you do! This cup and saucer is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the photos of your peonies in the boathouse. SO amazing how you have decorated it too.
hugs from here...
