Happy Weekend!
After a week of lovely sunny weather we are getting some
rain and cooler temperatures. I had another tour from Japan
this morning but once again they were great sports and didn't
complain about wet feet etc. We have another tour tom. but
sunshine is promised.
A few weeks ago I found this shelf at the thrift shop for
a few dollars. Andrew put a back on it for me and I gave
it a few coats of cloud white paint.
It is a good way to display some of my favorite
vintage/ antique china.
Over the winter we put wainscoting on
the bottom of our kitchen walls.
When time permits we are adding a
scalloped trim board on the bottom of it.
Just a few closeups of the china.
Lemon crinkle cookies are a nice
little tea time treat. If you would
like the recipe you can find it here

Looks pretty with toile!

I really like your new shelf and it looks really good where you have placed it (and with what you have filled it !) Just wondering what is holding in that gorgeous platter at the top--maybe you have a little nail there to keep it in place. I know you are giving wonderful tours to your tourists from overseas. Just think of the stories they take back about your lovely home. It's nice to see the pretty china in use for afternoon tea.
ReplyDeleteIt is all so, so pretty, Carolyn. I love the china and your new shelf is charming. Deb

Oh, that is an adorable shelving unit, Carolyn. The wainscoting backing adds a lot, too. Nice job. The china in there looks lovely. Susan

Beautiful, Carolyn! That shelf looks like it was made to go on that wall. Love the bead board back. It will be a great display piece for all your wonderful china.

I love your "new" shelf and your china is absolutely beautiful. It's funny, when I was young I didn't appreciate fine china but today I do but I don't have any because of my youthful ignorance lol! YOurs is some of the prettiest I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteGreat new shelf! And I love your dishes! Blue is my favorite color so I was drawn to them right away!

The pattern on your china is so beautiful Carolyn! You have it displayed so pretty. I love the new shelf, and I really love the wainscoting on your wall!
ReplyDeleteI imagine you are having the time of your life right now in the garden. Things are really starting to get pretty here too, but with our drought here in the west, I'm afraid it won't be so pretty in a couple of months. But I will enjoy it while I can.
