Shades of Blue

                                                                    Happy Weekend!

It is a sunny day here but still on the cool side for spring.
However, everyday brings little changes and we know
there is lots of good things coming soon.Looking forward
to the peonies and lilacs putting on there show after the
                                     spring bulbs.

Today, I am sharing some of my favorite
photos of my blue and white china.

                                                                 Antique sugar bowl.
                                                                          Spode teacups

Toile and transferware are two of
                                                                  my favorite things.

I am looking forward to the days when I can take my
camera out and do a photo shoot of the garden but
right now we are still at the brown stage with a few
splashes of color here and there.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

  4. I just love those shades of blue in your transferware. I recently painted my family room in a soft french grey and the transfer ware would look just amazing on the table. I may just have to start a little collection myself.

  6. I love china and your blues do not disappoint - beautiful!
I've been going into my garden each beautiful day, snapping photos to journal even the browns, as they turn, and assessing winter's damage each time. I'm in West Virginia, and so happy it's truly Spring. This week my young lilac is in full bloom, and the trees are almost completely leafed out, still waiting on irises. Beautiful time of year!

  7. I love that sugar bowl and the pattern on it, Carolyn! Just beautiful, as is the color. We are a little warmer here today. Last frost date is tomorrow so I am looking forward to at least planting an urn up outside on Monday. It is supposed to rain next week so that might be all I get to do.

  11. The china is 'oh so pretty', blue and white is my favourite. I sadly don't have much room to show off china and presently mine is in my Korean cabinet. I do love those pretty forks, what a gorgeous blue.

  15. Hello Carolyn
There's nothing nice than blue and white china is there?!

I have those same lovely Spode Camille cups, saucers and plates that were originally my mothers - I treasure them dearly.
The next photo has such a pretty teapot - it has a very appealing shape.

I also love the fluted cup and saucer with the squashy shaped cup sitting on top - they are both so pretty.
Your post makes me want to dash out the door and look for more blue and white china!!

    Hugs
    Shane

  18. Carolyn, I love your china: tea cups are gorgeus! Here in Italy, after months of rain, spring is finally shining. Yesterday we went to our little house in the country and we found a lot of fragrant, wild blue iris. What’s a perfume in our home, now!
    Have a nice day

  25. Such a beautiful collection! And your photos are charming. I really like the pattern in the 7th picture from the top. It is a teacup centered on a plate on top of a fabric napkin. The pattern looks like a dogwood (?) flower connected by vines. What is the name of that pattern? I would love to find it and buy one for myself.

  26. This is some of the most beautiful scenery and photographs! Thank you for sharing. In the photo Lilacs, Transferware and toile, do you know the name of the pattern on the tea set? I am an advid tea drinking and tea set collector. I love this and would love to find and purchase it. I appreciate your assistance!! Tina

  27. What fun it is to see your blue and white dishes on this rainy day waiting in a parking lot for people to come and get their free COVID-19 vax. Wish I could share photos of mine here with you. I have Calico Blue Staffordshire set and lots of antique flow blue. My pinterest board under Cora Simpich has some of my own and lots of other peoples.
