A Plaid Winter Picnic

Hello everyone,
We are having a snow day here ~ a blizzard warning has been issued.
Schools have been cancelled among many other things and we have
made our trip to the grocery store to stock up on necessities.
Probably not the best day for a winter picnic today but a couple
of days ago when I took these shots it was a good day.

We will still have lots of winter days yet so it is good to get out and
                                   enjoy them!

And so a thermos of hot cocoa and some ginger cookies
and I am good to go!

The plain vintage picnic lunch box came from Emmett and Ellie's on
University Ave. in Charlottetown last year. The plaid tablecloth came
from Homesense but the rest is mostly thrift shop finds.
This is our screened in porch where we enjoy most of our
                                         summer meals.

I hope you are enjoying winter where ever you are, but if you are not spring will be
here before you know it. I love how the days are getting longer now and the sun is
getting stronger. Today, however is a good day to snuggle in by the fireplace!

I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
Also joining The Charm of Home for Home Sweet Home and
My Romantic Home for Show & Tell Friday.

                                                                               Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                                     Carolyn

I love your Plaid Winter table. Even though we do not have snow, we are forecast to plunge down into the 30's for the next 3 nights. Pretty cold for this Florida girl. I'd love to join you for your indoor picnic.

I am really loving the plaids this year. I did Dave's man cave in them for Christmas. It just feels so comfortable. And when you add coco and ginger cookies how can you go wrong. Enjoy your fireplace and the cozy surroundings you have created. It looks wonderful.

There are some precious moments that belong only the the wintry period, such as enjoying the heat spread from the fireplace, sipping a cup of hot tea to warm up, or enjoy the softness and the warmth that a blanket give us while breathing the cold of the snow .. thank you my friend for let us feel such sensations with your charming pictures !!

Seems like a Lovely picnic. Here we haven't those problems with snow. It's like last year, only some corns on the ground, but I guess we'll get some more later on.
Hope you have a nice weekend.

Carolyn, Lovely winter tablescape. I love the idea of an outdoor winter tablescape but it has been way to cold with way to much snow to try and do an outdoor table here in Ohio. Somehow I missed your blog through the years. I am a follower now so that I can keep up with your posts.

Carolyn I have to tell you this tablescape belongs on the cover of some magazine like county simple or something like that. unbelievable how you pulled it all together. From the tartan plaid, to the thermos and lunchbox to the bird house and the boots. this was magnificent. thank you for such pleasing eye candy.Susie
