Sunny Summer Days

                                                       Hello everyone,
We have been having some very hot and humid sunny summer days lately. I have to con fess it is too hot for me so you will find me languishing in the coolest shadiest pretty corner of the garden I can find. So, this morning the terrace has shade from the virginia creeper and the grapevine growing over it but it is also catching a little summer breeze.
The view on one side of the terrace-peonies and roses.

The Japanese ivory silk lilac is blooming on one side giving the sweetest fragrance along with the roses and peonies.

You can see why I am languishing in this shady, fragrant corner of the garden this morning but I wish you could enjoy the fragrance as well!

Now, I am off to church and if it gets too hot this afternoon I may have to head to one of the Island"s beautiful beaches!

Hope you are staying cool or warm if you are in the middle of winter.

Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn

Yes, it is dreadfully hot here, too Caroline. I tend to stay out of the sun as much as possible. Your little table looks so inviting and I love the vase of pretty posies. Stay cool. The beach sounds good although I think I'd sit under a tree. Deb

Oh, your garden is trully a paradise. Being on an island makes it even more dream-like.
I hope you realise how lucky you are, even though lucky must mean a lot of gardening work

I am reading blogs where it is too hot and others where it won't stop raining. I guess I should not complain that the beach is a tad bit overcast.

I would love to be sitting at any of the tables you showed.

Life is beautiful at your place Carolyn! I always love my time spent here looking at all the beauty you have created. It has been SO hot this past week and a half here. I have had to force myself to do anything. I am hoping for a little break in the heat soon, I hope you get one too.
hugs from here...

Hello, Carolyn

I would enjoy lingering in your glorious shady garden with all of the fragrant blooms, perhaps with a good book and a glass of ice tea.

Have a lovely week.

A nice look at summer on the island. A net over your umbrella is a good way to keep the bugs out.

Delightful!
Love the beauty that you create and the beauty that surrounds you.
Enjoy your week Carolyn, and it is humid here in Northern Ontario too.
But I do love the summer...and wish it would last longer than it does. ;)
I'd love to sit with you in that cozy spot xo

All my heart,
Deborah xoxo

How do you manage to live life so elegantly? Is it an art you've learned? Were you born with it? I do admire you however you came to surround yourself with such beauty. xx

Ooooh I love that little corner in your garden and the fragrance must be divine! What a great idea that spot on the beach with the netting over the umbrella, OK so schlepping the table would be an effort but isn't that what DH's are for?! :D Yes, it is terribly hot and humid here in New Hampshire... I can't bare the humidity so I am nested inside with the AC but I would so rather be out in the garden. Next year my plans include making a little netted in sitting area so til then I will just have to enjoy your gorgeous photos sharing your little tucked away spaces in your garden!
Hugs and enjoy the week,
Beth P
