Hello everyone,
We are expecting a big snowstorm here on the Island starting tonight and it is supposed to dump about 25 cm(10 inches) of snow with high winds so we have been to the grocery store and stocked up on supplies and have candles ready in case we lose power. It sounds like tomorrow will be a day to stay inside by the fireside with a good book and hot cocoa!
We already had some snow a couple of days ago when two of our granddaughters were here for the morning so I took some shots of Olivia out in the snow with a new ' snow princess' costume. These are a few of some quick shots that I snapped of her.
Olivia loves pretty things so she was delighted with the Snow Princess costume.
Today, I am joining How Sweet the Sound for Beverly's snow theme day so I went through my old photos for the ones below but it sounds like by tomorrow this will be pretty much what our home and garden will look like.
Our old garden gate.
The house above is my neighbours and I always love a snow picture of it.
Stay warm and cosy and visit How Sweet the Sound for more snow pics or pinks for Pink Saturday.
Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn
Breathtaking! I can't even begin to imagine seeing beauty like that in person.

All these sights are so pretty to look at. However, in Texas we got a little but nothing like this.
ReplyDeleteYour snow princess is a true beauty. She looks right at home with all that white stuff, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteI love all the pictures Carolyn, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteYour home is so lovely when it is blanketed with snow! I wouldn't mind having a little snow, perhaps we'll get lucky this year!
ReplyDeleteYour snow photos are beautiful and Ms.Olivia is lovely in her new costume! Wish we could get snow like that!
ReplyDeleteThere are SNOW NICE! Your neighbour's home all robed in snow looks like something from a storybook, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe are hoping Jen and Lucas are home again and snug in their own beds tonight. :-)))
Enjoy your day tomorrow, think I might pop by How Sweet the Sound and join the party! lol
Hugs,

We just had two storms, too. The first one left a lovely foot and, today, it was only supposed to be an inch in the afternoon but it wound up snowing all day long - BEAUTIFUL, sparkly, fresh snow! I don't think we had this much all of last winter - it was so strange. Now, I'm so glad to see winter again. er, will you remind me of this come March, please, though. =/ Anyway, it's so nice to know that, now, my garden really is tucked in to bed for the winter.
ReplyDeleteBut, silly me going on about the weather when you have such a beautiful princess of a granddaughter!!! How fun is that? She is absolutely pretty as a picture! =]
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Carolyn! I've been coming to visit and peek but I think that I was too tired to say anything. I just don't want the holidays to go by without a hug, a kiss and best wishes for the New Year! =]
xxoo
I just love looking at your snow pictures. They are like something out of a fairytale to me. Here I have the house opened up to catch the breeze because it's summer and I'm thinking about having a swim this afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cosy!
Wow... how breathtakingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLiving in the land of perpetual sunshine ( Florida) I rely on blogs like yours for beautiful snowy day pictures.
Moving from NYC, then to the mountains of Virginia then finally Florida, I do miss the snow. The sight of it... the sound of it falling.... Not the mess left behind though.
Enjoy some for me... Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures.
Happy New Year, Gee
So much snow, doesn't it kill the garden a good frost will kill most of mine.
ReplyDeleteMerle........
The photos of your granddaughters are absolutely beautiful...just like princesses from a fairy tale.
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome pictures of your granddaughter--she looks like a snow angel. How fun! Your neighbors house looks gorgeous too. Enjoy your snowstorm and stay warm!

Oh, Carolyn: That is beauty and wonder at it's best. I know it gets tiring after awhile but you have to just love the first snowfall..Happy New Year..Judy
ReplyDeleteEverywhere looks beautiful under freshly fallen snow even the most unlikely places in towns and cities. I hope that your snowstorm isn't too bad, it seems to have been pretty awful in the US.
ReplyDeleteOlivia looks absolutely fabulous in her 'snow princess' costume.
Your photos are beautiful. Happy New Year. Andrea
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your Winter wonderland. I am in Australia and we have been to the beach today to enjoy the sunshine. We don't get snow in my area and would absolutely love to one day have a white Christmas such as yours. Your little Olivia looks like a little cherub in that divine dress. I bet she had so much fun dressing up. Happy New Year !
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful snow princess. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLove your snow(lady)'s eyes. She has eyelashes! What a great idea.
Everything looks magical. Thank you. xx
Beautiful indeed and keep warm and safe in the winter storm.
ReplyDeleteLove Jeanne
Grandma, did you make the snow princess costume? It is adorable and I know how much Olivia likes to dress up from all the photos you've shared in the past.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if we're in store for more snow but hope you weather the coming storm with ease.
Stay warm.
Judith
What a beautiful outfit, Carolyn, and your granddaughter looks like a Winter Princess in it! We've had some snow here and I believe there is more to come. Hoping it won't affect our guests travel plans for when they leave Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteA snow day sounds wonderful Carolyn! Oh my goodness, your little snow princess is just lovely! Love these images of your winter home and surroundings...gorgeous! Hot cocoa sounds yummy curled up by a fire ;) I'd love to join you! We have lots of snow too...and I have to admit, it is pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove & hugs to you this winters day xo
All my heart,
Deborah xoxo
Oh Carolyn the photo of Olivia as Snow Queen is so sweet. It is so beautiful out today with the trees laden with snow that I'm sure you're sitting by one of your lovely fireplaces having a nice cup of tea. Just came from putting bird food in feeders, have the dogs and cats curled up in front of the fire and enjoying your beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Olivia is such a pretty girl in her snow princess costume. The storm hit us really hard. Harder than expected. We got over 20 cm again! Did it hit you hard too? Take Care.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is so sweet and she look lovely. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe photos of your granddaughters are absolutely beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've been following the storm on the weather channel and thinking of all our family in NS and NB. I hope you stay warm and cosy through it all.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pictures! I especially love the snow princess!
ReplyDeleteFairy tale shots.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, Olivia looks darling in her snow princess outfit! I like your snow scenes as well. I too like a snow day once in awhile, as long as I don't have to go anywhere. Very cozy!
ReplyDeleteMay 2013 bring you joy, peace, prosperity, faith, love, hope and good health.
xo, Beth
Your granddaughter is so pretty in that gorgeous Snow Princess outfit! I love LOOKING at snowy photos...not so much to be IN it, though. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteYour Snow Princess is magical, indeed, Carolyn. And your world looks as though Sugar Plum Fairies will emerge at any moment.
ReplyDeleteAs always, it's a treat to see what you've created and shared with us.
I hope your Christmas was marvelous and I send wishes for a bright, healthy, happy New Year to you!
Georgianna
Looking at your photos makes me want to cuddle in my blanket!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to catch up with PINK entries before the year ends tonight. Hope you'd come and see my Snowmen
Have a blessed and peaceful new year!
The snow queen pictures are just stunning. I haven't seen such beautiful photos for a long time. And your neighbours house reminds me of Diana Berry's house in Anne of Green Gables.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today and I'm bookmarking it so I can come back again.
