Summer Days

                                                            Hello everyone,
It is still hot and sunny here so take a little break and enjoy a cup of peach tea and a book in the hammock.

It is phlox and hydrangea season here so I have picked a basket to enjoy.

My hammock is a canvas yardsale find with a lace tablecloth thrown over it.

You can see the garden in the background where the daylillies are thriving.
                                             Pleasant dreams to you!
I see you have kicked off your wellies!
Our grass is turning brown this summer due to the lack of rain we have had all spring and summer.
If I don't look too close at the garden I still see lots of beauty but closer inspection shows plants that are definitely stressed. I notice a lot of trees are losing their leaves.
Birdhouse on the post by the hammock.
The shasta daisies are blooming well.

Well, I went to town this morning to get some pretty paint for a few projects so I better get to work but you can linger in the hammock under the shade of the big spruce tree with a gentle breeze to keep you cool and the sound of our brook to soothe your soul.

I am joining French Country Cottage for Featured Nest Friday and  The Charm of Home for Home Sweet Home today.

Enjoy your day!

Carolyn

Funny, phlox here is one of the first plants that bloom in early spring, and hydrangea come much later - but then your phlox looks nothing like mine.

I would love to have a hammock but my backyard is way too sunny.....and the trees we have planted aren't close enough or strong enough yet to hold weight like that. Ah well, I have yours to enjoy, that you, so pretty.

Have a blessed day.

Carolyn, thank you for sharing your hammock and all the beauty of your home. Your heart shines through in all that you have created.

Our lawn and gardens have too been stressed by the heat, but autumn is just around the corner.

Such a beautiful spot to spend a lazy afternoon, Carolyn! Great idea to put such a pretty tablecloth over the hammock. It makes it look so romantic. We've been through all that heat stress all Summer. I think we are supposed to get some rain tonight then some cooler days {fingers crossed}.

Hello Carolyn! What a great idea to put the tablecloth over the canvas hammock.

Can't wait to see what you are going to paint and what colors the objects are going to be.

Hope you have a good Friday! Susan

Beautiful and peaceful photos Carolyn. It's raining here this evening. I have noticed some trees are turning colour or dying from lack of water. I'm afraid what we're getting lately won't help. I think I'll linger on the hammock unless you'd like some help with the painting. :)

Carolyn, to see all that color in a garden in August is a treat for me. I'll linger a bit longer if you don't mind. That hammock looks very inviting. ~ Sarah

Hi Carolyn!

What a beautiful site... a lace hammock, a cup of tea and a book alongside a babbling brook. I feel so relaxed just thinking about it. Thank you for the lovely place to travel to this morning.

Hope you show us what you're painting.

Hugs, Edie & Marie

Love that you just threw that tablecloth over your hammock, Carolyn. It looks sooo pretty! We've seen signs of distress in our trees and plants this summer, too. In fact, we just had half a tree fall down by our firepit. Those mulberry trees are just terrible to have in your yard. They get so big, then fall apart. But with the recent rains we had, everything is perking back up and the grass is green again! :)

it's all so pretty and so refreshing! We had and are still having a horrible drought, this summer! =( but the gardens are moving on and, still, growing! Next year!!! =]
