Hello everyone,
Did you have a good weekend? We had a garden tour with people from across Canada and met some lovely gardeners-even got an invitation to visit in Victoria B.C.-how nice is that? We got enough rain to at least perk the garden up a little.
On Saturday Andrew and I went for a drive along our beautiful coast(more on that later) and I took a few pics of flowers along the way. Isn't this a beautiful dahlia?
We all love sunflowers!
Gladiolas
Clematis and hydrangea in our garden.
Beautiful!
I love Russian Sage and this was a good year for it-hot & dry!
Rudbeckia
Buckets of flowers from our June garden for a wedding for a sweet young lady in our church.
Lots of pretty peonies were used to make the casual bouquets that she wanted.
Seems like yesterday these were blooming.
We have a high count of butterflies here on the Island this year-which is a very good thing! This one is enjoying a butterfly bush which is a magnet for them. Alas, mine did not winter over for some reason.
Wherever you are I hope you are enjoying some beautiful flowers either indoors or out.
Thank you for visiting and welcome to my new followers .To all who left sweet comments -Thank-you!
Take care,
Carolyn
Good morning Carolyn. We have what seems like more butterflies (flutterbys) this year too on our Island, Long Island, New York. It brings great pleasure as does you lovely pictures, as always.
ReplyDeleteLady B and I are having a giveaway and we hope you will come and visit us.

Your posies are lovely as always, Carolyn. My Glads didn't do well at all this year.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to get some rain over the weekend. Hubby and I took a long drive up to Alberton yesterday to visit my mother who is in for respite at the Manor. It rained quite a bit up and back and I thought of your gardens. Glad your tour went well. Have a beautiful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
Such beautiful flowers for a wedding!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers--I have a soft spot for glads. We have drought and heat here. Absolutely anything that is surviving this summer is loved!

ReplyDeleteDear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYou must have had some lovely weather lately, because we have the same flowers in bloom at the moment.
Your bouquets for the wedding look enchanting. I think the bride will be pleased. The colours are very sweet and perfect for the occasion.

Gorgeous! I sure could use some of your flowers in my house ...especially now that the walls have been painted.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, look at all that wonderful COLOUR!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
Isn't it just the best colors? Late summer floral that is.. the colors are deeper, pulling you in to sniff.. to touch.. yes. I love all flowers yet deep summer floral seems to snag me everytime.

Oh Carolyn, how wonderful you make bouquets of flowers for brides! All the blooms are so very, very delightful. Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to photos from your excursion with your sweetie pie. Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteHow generous of you to create such gorgeous arrangements for the bride. I'm sure she had the most beautiful flowers of any wedding on the island this year!
I adore Russian Sage also, especially paired with Gaura, but unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to keep them from one season to the next. So I buy them each year as annuals!
Have a lovely week.
