Happy Weekend!
We are having a wet one so far but that didn't stop me from enjoying a little time with my camera.I started off taking pictures in the garden but then got inspired to move into the cottage for a little feminine time out for tea.
I gathered up some some tea things and a beautiful bouquet of lilacs. The cooler weather we had this week has encouraged them to hang around for awhile longer-thankfully,as I love them so!
A comfy toile chair, some pretty books, tea cookies and flowers and I am all set to snuggle in for awhile.
This pretty teacup belonged to a special aunt.
The lilacs in this bouquet are primrose(white) and Beauty of Moscow(soft pink with white) and an unknown variety. If I had of known I would be blogging when I planted these lilacs several years ago I might have kept better records!
I love my new shoes -pretty and comfy!
It is so peaceful her with Pachebel's In the Garden playing quietly .
Pretty Scotch cookies
Well,I enjoyed my utterly feminine afternoon tea and I hope you did too! Now,that I am all rested I better get back to work as we have a tour on Monday morning.
I am joining Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound today.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Carolyn

Carolyn - it looks so lovely and peaceful. I'm jealous. J
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cottage to spend time in. Lilacs are so romantic and make everything beautiful and peaceful. You have done a wonderful job of creating a very special place to spend an afternoon. Everything from the toile chair to the teapot and teacup and cookies are exquisite and the music divine.
ReplyDeleteI have been away for a couple of days and wasn't able to leave a comment on your previous post which was also beautiful. Martha's Garden is lush and inviting. The flowers all so beautiful and Martha is stunning. I am so envious that you still have lilacs blooming.
How on earth could you leave that beautiful space to do anything else?
ReplyDeleteSO SO beautiful.
You could make a book out of your photographs alone! That first (or any of your photos) could be a gorgeous book cover. The fabric is just dreamy on the chair!
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and just my kind of place...all the decorating is just perfect and I would never want to leave the cottage...ever.

ReplyDeleteEverything about this post is so utterly charming and very, very pretty. A delight to look at and read.
A beautiful spot to retreat to on a rainy day, Carolyn! I love that chair and your teacup choice suits it perfectly. I am going to have to look for a lilac bush after seeing your lovely varities. Great ballet flats! I love them, but can never seem to find a pair that doesn't give me a blister on the back of my ankle.
ReplyDeleteOh it's all so incredibly pretty! Living in your home must be like living in a gorgeous dream! utterly beautiful!

Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteLove that toile chair. Sigh. And, Beauty of Moscow is my all-time fave lilac, just love their colour - very feminine, indeed. What a pretty lace jacket that is, too!
All is gorgeous in your world, as always. Our weather has not been fit, nothing growing much of which to speak here. But it is always a pleasure to visit you and walk with you through your glorious gardens, my friend! You always bring me cheer.
Wishing you a beautiful day and we'll talk soon,
Linda :-)
P.S. We had a beautiful time in Victoria and were reluctant to come home...
The chair...sigh...so curl-up-able!

It is all so pretty and so soothing. I wish I could curl up in that room. The Lilacs are stunning too. How many garden tours do you do a year? Is it just in spring? Do you have helpers to help you with all the work( I hope so) it must require. Your garden always looks so good.
ReplyDeleteJust dropping by from Pink Saturday--your cottage is beautiful. It is so feminine and lovely.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, your lilacs are scrumptious beyond words! I love the different colours and the fragrance must be heavenly in your little cottage. Pretty teacup too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
