Country Days

Hello Everyone,
I am a country girl and I enjoy going for a drive through the countryside of our little Island(Prince Edward Island) at any time of the year. In June everything is particularly lush and green. We did have a great crop of dandelions this year but the season for them is already pretty much passed.
I grew up on a farm so they still appeal to me and I love to see the baby animals in the spring.

I love this farm home.
The rolling hillside of New Glasglow.
Another nice farm.
Gotta love this country mailbox!
Or how about this unique display?
I used to have a horse when I was a teenager so I am always drawn to them when we go for a country drive.

I love the apple blossoms against the weathered shingles.

And here is a bouquet for you from our country garden.

Enjoy your day!

Carolyn

  2. Carolyn: What a pretty drive through the country. I also grew up in the country with a dirt road, a bridge over the creek and kittens in the barn drinking fresh milk right from the cow! Great life and so many memories. Thanks for sharing those memories..Happy Tuesday..Judy

  3. A lovely country post; such beautiful country. Did I already tell you I once had a dental hygienist whose father summered (or maybe wintered) on the island. She would fascinate me with stories of life on the island, while I was a captive audience.

  17. Hello Carolyn:
For years we lived in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside on the English-Welsh border and so, as you may imagine, this post appeals to us greatly, not only for what you say here, but also for the wonderful images. You certainly do live in a very lovely spot.

We have been recommended to your blog by our dear friend Madelief who was visiting us here in Budapest last weekend. We shall look forward to future posts.

  26. Goodmorning Carolyn!I live in rural Ontario also surrounded by farms and I pass by many on route to everywhere I go it seems.
The barns are a story in themselves! So picuresque. My favorite right now is to see the babies in the fields..horses,cows,lambs..always have to stop.
You have captured the true essence of farming communities in your images..no matter what province they are all charming..especially to me a city girl at heart.
    Have a beautiful week!
