Hello everyone,
I hope you enjoyed a lovely Valentine's Day. I guess the next milestone for many of us will be Spring. Since it is a beautiful day here with some heat in the sun and a little melting going on- so spring doesn't seem so far off today! It was hard to come indoors again after our walk-it was so lovely.
I mentioned before that I have been playing in photoshop and I must have an addictive personality because it is hard to get me stopped once I have seen the difference you can make in a photo.
I am mostly playing with the opacity levels still but doing some sharpening and brightening as well.
Before using photoshop many of my pics were put on my blog straight out of the camera or some lightening etc. in picasa.
I know I still need to practice to get the best effect-but practice makes perfect so I will be spending more time on it for awhile.
I think I could have some fun going through some of my old shots from last year and seeing how I can improve them as I have always loved the soft effect-but did not know how it was achieved.
Probably, this soft and sweet look is not for everyone but I am loving it!I am joining French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday.
Thank you for stopping by.
Carolyn.
I'm always sure of a happy mood when I visit your blog. Today is no different. Your pictures are lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh the soft, minty greens are gorgeous! The buds are swelling on the lilac bushes and the hydrangeas here!!
ReplyDeleteYou can spend all day play in photoshop, but I am not speaking from experience, lol. Beautiful photos Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful with, or without, photoshop.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you are taking the time to learn what all the different photo editing functions do, Carolyn. It is still on my list of things to get to, but I know that it will wind up being something that will have me on the computer for at least a couple of hours!
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Carolyn....Well, your wanting to do picturesque photos on your blog is a GOOD addiction.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to looking at all the loveliness on your blog! Ha!
So we BOTH have at least one good addiction.
Have a wonderful Wednesday. Susan
Hi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI adore the soft look and i actually brightened a few of my pictures on today's post as they were shadowy (dull day) and i thought the same as you, ahhhh that's how its done.

It's very pretty. I'm so curious about photoshop, but worry that it will take me forever to learn to use it. Looks like you're totally getting the hang of it all!

Hi Carolyn
ReplyDeleteI like how you can make a photo look softer. Is Photo Shop hard to learn to use? Sometimes us grannies have a difficult time wrapping our head around technical stuff.

Carolyn,
Lauriane

What a great job that is, working with photshop. I have that program for over a year and never got to actually use it. I must see what I can do about it because I love that soft look.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! Lucky you with so lovely weather. Here it was snowing all day long yesterday and it has began to come snow today as well. I'm so tired of it now, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely day.
Love Elzie
Love the color combinations....SO soothing
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to see what you can do with photo's! Like you I use Picasa, but am contemplating to buy photoshop elements. I am not sure yet. Is Photoshop really an improvement to Picasa? Can you do more with the photo's?
Your photo's look lovely Carolyn! The effect you can create is quite striking.
Lieve groet,
