Hello everyone,
Did you have a lovely weekend? I spent some time taking pictures of everything from tulips to little ones in pink tutus so I will have more to share with you this week.
I have made a few changes in our kitchen. This harvest table was one we bought many years ago when all our children were young and used to sit around this table having their meals and doing homework etc.It was a dark pine when we bought it. Anyway,my daughter had it for her family and recently got a new one so when we got it back I thought it was time for a coat of white paint-now I like it a lot better but it only has the base coat on yet.
The red and white pitcher and basin came from Coulson's in Summerside a few years ago and I love it filled with white tulips locally grown.
The shelf above the wood pellet stove.
The walls in our kitchen are a gray color with a hint of taupe.
I like being able to display my red and white transferware in these little racks.
Thank you for visiting.
Carolyn
Oh I looooove the table must be wonderful having it back! It really is gorgeous, and that's just one coat you say?
ReplyDeleteWhite tulips are my favvie FAV - and displayed in your red and white transferware, my oh my, does it get prettier than that?
What a lovely post, naturally. You never fail to amaze.
Hi Carolyn, The harvest table does look better painted white. I am also making changes to my kitchen, new floor and cupboard refacing. Enjoy your week and take care, Jen.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the white table, Carolyn. And I think I'm becoming a big fan of red transferware. SOOOOO lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing. Who needs Victoria Magazine when they can go to your blog? SOOOO talented you are, my lady.
Susan
Your pitcher and basin are so pretty, Carolyn! The white tulips enhance this centerpiece beautifully. Love it with your red and white transferware. It all looks so good against the white in this room. I agree that it brings a bit more coziness during this cold time of year!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. You manage to take that gorgeous transferware and and somehow make if even more beautiful. Absolutely perfect. I love all of your pretty things.
ReplyDeleteI love the harvest table in white. I have been toying with the idea of painting my pine table.
ReplyDeleteThe red & white basin in the shots are simply gorgeous my dear!

Your kitchen is so pretty and I love that you shared the details with us. I can imagine all of the happy times you had with your family seated around that table. I think it looks really nice in white. I'm thinking of painting my oak kitchen table and chairs. Just wondering what type of paint and primer you use and if there are any special steps you must take when painting furniture?
ReplyDeletePiękna porcelana :)
ReplyDeleteAgain you wow me with your photos I cannot hardly wait till you post something new...you are great at photo shoots...they capture the subject and leave you wanting more..thanks Carolyn
ReplyDeleteGood Day Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen! Having sat at your table and shared with you peppermint tea brewed on the pellet stove and your tasty home baked scones and peach pie, I can attest to its all-embracing charm, warmth and prettiness (is that even a word?!). I think I may have remarked at the time that the colour of the walls is the coziest, most welcoming gray that I have ever seen! Beautiful.
I love, too, that you can look out from the window over your kitchen sink and watch birds tending to their young nestled among the tree branches. And, in the alcove that hugs the windows opposite that gorgeous table (where you normally have your chaise, but like to change it up occasionally with your garden table and chairs) that you can look out upon the most magnificent garden visitas that rival any public gardens! No wall art needed.
And, well you know that we share a love (more like obsession) for pink transferware, toile and creamware, especially jugs - oh, yes, and sheep! Haha The list just grows, doesn't it?! Your photos inspire me...I have been taking a little break from my blog lately and haven't been commenting a lot, busy as a bee growing 'Garden Pink Days', but I'll be back soon.
BTW, that new camera lense you are using is awesome and the photo club is definitely worth your time, it seems. I hope you are enjoying it. Although, I've always so admired your photographic 'eye' and your ability to capture the beauty you create all around you. I am sure you have a lot to give to the other photographers in your group.
Wishing you a beautiful week filled with all the things you love to do and "Hi" to Andrew - we can't forget your partner in creating such a lovely home for you and your family and friends - blogging buddies, too :-),
Hugs,
Linda at Beautiful Ideas
Carolyn I loved this glimpse into your beautiful kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love that Pitcher and it is so lovely with the white Tulips....greetings from Holland...Marjon
ReplyDeleteCarolyn I love your table and your gorgeous white chairs!
ReplyDeleteIm in the midst of painting my dining room furniture white too..in fact, even today. I have put the first coat on the table and am painting the benches this morning.
:)
I love your walls too..taupe is a favourite of mine. When my boys were young I painted their bedroom taupe and the blinds were a candy-apple red and it was striking!
I love the beauty you create...and those tulips...ahhh they are beautiful!
Seriously in love with tulips!
Have a great day my friend xo

Such a beautiful kitchen! I really love the red and white. I've seen tons of blue and white, but not much of a red variety. :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with you, Carolyn. Sometimes it is the little changes that make such a big difference. I have a closet full of pillows to prove it too.
ReplyDeleteJan
I love red transferware! Well, any color really. And that pitcher and basin are to die for! I've had it on my mind for a while to buy a set but now I think I'll be on the hunt ; )
ReplyDeleteSharon
I think I remember your dark pine table from the first time I visited you. It was before you renovated the kitchen. I like it white too. As for your red and white, well, I could look at that for hours! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
It definitely is the little details that make a home cozy. And you do a marvelous job of detailing a home.
ReplyDeleteYour table is very pretty in white.
