Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend but have a few minutes to tour our garden with me. The shot above was taken early in the morning and the mirror behind Martha (the statue) is foggy. Some of you have asked how often I clean the mirror and the answer is about three times in 10 years -so not often and it does stay there all winter as well. I love how it reflects the garden but it is in a shady spot so it doesn't get the sun which can apparently cause a fire because of the heat it reflects.
The daylilies are putting on a good show all around the garden now and for several weeks yet.
Pink astillbe with a purple monkshood and a white monkshood with an Annebelle barely showing to the side.
I love to take a picture from up here on a regular basis as it gives a good view of what is blooming each week.
Our little Garden Cottage.
Love my delphinium with the pink roses in the background.
Prairie Princess rose and more monkshood. Monkshood is very easy to grow and we have even rooted new plants just by sticking a stem of it in the ground in spring.
Sally Holmes rose-a delicate creamy peach.
Heritage rose
Antique rose.
Now, for any local visitors we are having our garden tour again this year on August 7th a Sunday afternoon from 2 until 4:30 .The cost is $8. and all of the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. I hope you can come and enjoy a tour of the garden and cottage along with some lemonade and cookies! The tour is rain or shine.
Thank you for coming around the garden with me again!
Thank you as well to all who left such lovely comments on my last post-I have to admit it was one of my personal favorite posts.
Enjoy your weekend,
Carolyn

Dearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteThat looks perfect all for your upcoming garden tour. Hope it will not rain and that you have a great turn out for such a noble cause!
Lots of love,
Mariette
Apparently birds can get disorientated by mirrors which is why I've never thought of having one. I never considered the fire risk.
ReplyDeleteGarden and photos are beautiful as always. Hope you raise lots of money from the tour. xx
Love your garden tour !!!....xxx....
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to tour your garden in person! But your photos give a wonderful glimpse!
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is enchanting:)
ReplyDeleteMy gardens are parched beyond parched..we have watering limitations and we are in a heat/drought situation..even the grass looks like jute at spots:(
Beautiful carolyn
Hello Carolyn
ReplyDeleteOne day... I'd love to return to PEI and visit both you and Sandi. The family is in Tignish right now and having a great time.
Hope the weather is good for your tour.

Oh Carolyn your garden is what I have dreamed of creating for years now. Unfortunately here in Kansas it's so hot that a good many of these beautiful flowers wouldn't last long and our rusty water here on the farm doesn't help either. Yours are JUST GORGEOUS!!! I'm still holding onto my dream and hopefully I'll find other plants similar to yours that will withstand our 40C+ temperatures. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteMaura :)
Your garden is heavenly, Carolyn. I wish I had a space 1/10th of yours. Love those flowers... they are soooo beautiful!!
